Formuler S Turbo FW 1.6.26 & 1.6.28 unstability - how to downgrade to FW 1.6.11?

Retail Box or Provider Box: Retail Box

Firmware version and date: UP v1.6.28-r17158 2018.12.10

Did you factory reset your device? and when?: yes more times today

I used the Formuler S Turbo with FW 1.6.11 since June 2018. It was working very good without any big problems to the moment of upgrade on FW 1.6.26.

From this upgrade is device quite unstable:

1) Launcher is unstable. Launcher is not response.

2) Wifi has problems to connect and after succesfull connection do not hold stabile connection => unexpected disconnections. By FW 1.6.11 it was working OK.

So I made also upgrade on FW 1.6.28, but the result is the same. Unstability. Naturaly I did also necessary factory resets.

Then I tried to import my channel list from usb backup. After restart I received only black screen. It was unpossible to restart the device and so was necessary to do next factory reset and I was in error cycle.

I guess, there is the only one good way - to do downgrade to FW 1.6.11. But how to do it? Where can I find it as file for usb import ???

Hello and thx for using the form.

Unfortunately we don`t have any files for downgrading the firmware. Please don`t use fw`s from web, this could brick your box.

With 1.6.28 fw (launcher fix and few other small fixes) should your box work like before. About some connection problems we didn`t hear yet but from few users problems with old channel lists and launcher on 1.6.26. If the launcher problem still exist and you done already FR, please make new channel list and let the box scann (not import).

Hello, yesterday after the last FR I did this:

- settings/instalation/null/FR

- scann of channels by astra1 and astra3b where are my interesting stations

- new channel list over channel editor

So is satelite part working relatively good.

But I use complex channel list for station in 6 different languages + sport, kids, music, news... To do it needs a time - more then 2 hours!!! It is pure waste of time.

Problem with wifi remains. It is impossible to use internet and my local net. So is the android part of device for nothing.

PLEASE, I need to go backwards to FW 1.6.11 !!! Give me way how to do it! At least give me FW 1.4.8 and re-update to FW 1.6.11 (this way exist by openbox devices, which are wery similar).

Today I had the same massage more times:

Loading launcher, please wait a second

and black screen.

Only stop of all applications (Hold menu, then red) repared the situation for a short time.

We don`t have issue with LAN/Wlan with latest fw, tested this few times after your report. Pleas reboot your rooter and check settings, seems like local network problem.

Since version 1.6.26 you can not see the card in the smartreader. When will the fix happen?

My card is nagra caid 1861. Where can I find information how to edit and add the provider and caid in mcas.

Hi SAM,

my problems with local network are not in rooter. All other devices are working OK. Formuler with FW 1.6.11 was also working OK. All problems started with upgrade on FW 1.6.26. Maybe there is some HW problem in Formuler, which was not so evident by FW 1.6.11. Naturally I tried to restart the rooter, I was working as IT specialist more then 40 years so I can we solve IT problems.

Can you please report to Formuler, that to the serious market policy belongs also the possibility to downgrade to better stabile version. It is necessary to publish FW 1.6.11 file for USB downgrade. And also with possibility to chceck this file before use with md5 or other hash method.

Now I have not only technical problem, but also family problem. My wife wants our Formuler in the old working status. And immediately without any discusion! The Christmas are in few days

First make a restore from file FAC.FORMULER.S-Turbo.RECOV.v1.4.8-r11787.ird.zip , and then you upload firmware directly from the tuner.

See this thread: How to return to FW 1.6.11? The 1.6.26 disabled the CI slot!
