  • I have recently moved to Dubai and using service provider etisalat. The internet speed when I test it on my phone using fast.com, shows me 249mbps, but when I test same on the Z8, it's 2mbps. When I connect using the ethernet, I can not seem to connect to anything, can't even complete the speed test. Just says I have no internet connection.

    Please help :loudly_crying_face:

PS: I am totally not tech savvy, so this could be something I need to do properly in the setup, any help would be much appreciated

  • I think you use some overloaded wifi channel with 2.4ghz. For z8 you have to setup your router and use 5ghz or wired with ethernet cable.

Better idea would be to find someone who knows to set your router.

  • Hi. It’s probably not his router that’s causing the issue.

It seems quite common that there is a problem with Ethernet on these devices particularly with the latest update unless the update is coincidental.

Certainly though there is a problem with the Ethernet on these boxes. I already have a thread open on this trying to troubleshoot.

Same issues have been reported previously by other people. We can’t all be having an issue with the routers, that would be impossible.

I’ll bet that if the original poster connects with WiFi and leaves Ethernet connect, the Ethernet will pick up and be recognised by the box and then work. This clearly points to a problem with Ethernet but all I read is administrators blaming people’s setup. Everyone can’t be wrong. There must be an issue so the best option would be to find the bug and release an urgent hot fix
