EPG Loading /Video Freezing / NordVPN issue

  • I still have the EPG Loading problem, even after the last update.

    I don't know if EPG is doing something hard on the CPU, but, video is freezing with the "Loop Loading Animation"., and unfreeze after 2-3 seconds.

    There is a way to see CPU % Utilisation on the screen ? ( Hotkey or someting ?? )

    Also, i installed NordVPN ont my Z8, and i always get the message "No process found".. i tried some reboot, but always same problem..

    On other thread, someone said, the Z8 dont have enough horse power to drive the VPN, so this i a reason i get this error "No process Found".

  • I can confirm (the latest version of) NordVPN runs fine on (the latest version of) Z8. (with wifi disabled and only ethernet (with dhcp) active)

    I only see the "No process found" message sometimes after going to "Z8 device standby mode" and then turning it back on.

    When I do a real power-off from the menu and then turn it back on, always resolved the "No process found" issue.

    Some people don't realise pressing STB on the remote does not power-off the Z8. It puts it in to standby mode. To really turn it off you need to press the STB button 2 seconds for a menu to appear with more options.

    Alternatively: Perhaps try switching NordVPN connection setting to TCP instead of the default UDP.

    If you still have the issue, do you have a startup app configured?

    The Kodi app can show Z8 CPU usage (Via the "Settings icon" in the top-left of the main screen and then goto "System information", it is in the "Summary")

    Nord VPN requires IPv6 for some reason. Maybe you can ask them why?

    Usually "no process found" can be solved on the Z8 by turning on IPv6.

    How to turn on IPv6 on the Z8:

    1. Android Settings
    2. Scroll down to IPv6
    3. Turn it ON
    4. Try NordVPN again

    Even when I turn IPv6 OFF, and then reboot the Z8, and I confirm after the reboot that IPv6 setting is still really OFF, the NordVPN app still aquires both a IPv4 and IPv6 address and works fine.

    So it seems NordVPN does not (always) rely/depend on that specific setting in 1.4.42.

  • My evidence is anecdotal and I am new to both the forum, NordVPN and Forumler boxes but I installed Nord onto the box, quick connected to a UK server and the IPTV service worked. I am not the most technically minded so I haven't done any customisation on the box but what I can say is that my provider gave me 'playlist' details instead of 'portal' details - not sure if that would have any impact on the issue you're running into?
