If you mean to watch recorded ts files from your Formuler box on pc, sure it`s possible. Each player that works fine with .ts can play such files.

This depends always from stream and how much the bitrate is. Higher bitrate means bigger files.

Many of IPTV content is with lower rate (SD) and doesn`t need to much, HD 1-3GB for two hours and more for 4k. What i see is iptv HD is not always real HD (like on Sat. box with constant bitrate) and need then not so much space. How ever, at end this depends from user how much he record and delete. I record very much on my main boxes (delete too) and in most cases only HD or 4K content, but all hdd`s are lower than 1TB

This is set in the firmware from his hdd, therefore the hdd goes alone into standby. Each hdd manufacturer have tools to change such power settings. Check the website from hdd manufacturer and search for maintenance tool.
