I never been able to make anything work with the LG magic remote
I think there kidding us

Yes but it doesn't like My brand
anyone recommend a brand I can select to control my formula Z8 box with LG magic remote
Have same in use, you can only use the joystick part for channel change etc. LG doesn`t have Formuler in database so you can not use the LG RCU for full. I send them Email to include Formuler into the database but no answer until now. If more people send such Email with same request, who knows maybe they include Formuler commands into the LG Magic remote database.

wow tried that, not good result. once enable, knocks out my denon av, and sound from TV only, also while hdmi-cec is enabled no longer able
to control apple tv,
LG remote as it it sets up remote specific to device connected to hdmi port, so control doeskin start for device until you on HDMI,
if there is a brand I can use for limited channel selection would be better the nowt

Simplink should be activated on LG and HDMI CEC on Z8.
Then click on Connected button on your RCU (between Netflix and Amazon button), choose last (all entrances) and confirm, in next window choose your Z8 on left side and click on universal remote control on right side, in next step choose set top box and confirm. Thats all.
Some settings could have different name, i wrote this without checking on tv.

thanks for reply, after turning on HDMI CEC on both tv and Z8,, when i select box, it takes me to page to select brand still, I guess im doing something wrong,

I use "Forever"
The back button don't work but menu and up/down and so on work
