Z10 pro max media play back on usb

    Hello, I recently purchased the z10 pro max.. I can't run my 4k 60fps home movies at full speed. Use to work great on z8 but now won't run on usb3.0 thru WD passport. Werid thing is it runs older 4k footage taken on a xiaomi action cam at 4k but not from my dji osmo action camera.. anyone know what's up? I have hw+ turned on with mx player as well. I also tried :-

    - different apps such as vlc, kodi, formuler media player and toggled hardware accelaration.

    - running a video converter on my old footage like vlc on pc and testing new outputs like mp4, h264 , h265, mpeg4.

    - bumped up kodi video cache to max.

    - I tried to turn on the h264 10bit codec on mx player but it says it doesnt't work with my z10 pro max

    All I get is a video that looks like slow motion and audio lags even slower.

    Am I missing something from my z8?

    I believe the videos at in the mp4 h264 avc format.

    Any help would be great because I don't want to return the product.

    h.264 4k 60fps is not supported by the hardware.

    Max supported decoding spec:

    h.264 Main Profile @ Level 5.1


    re-encode your videos to

    • 4k h.265 60fps or
    • 4k vp9 60fps or
    • 4k AV1 60fps

    thanks, I have tried 4k h.265 60fps and it didn't work. I have tried not the others , so will try.

    At the moment I have encoded the movies to 2.5k h.264 60fps and its runs with slight stutter on mx player. I won't lie, I'm kinda disappointed coming from z8 where these movies worked to z10 pro max and coming to a dead end.

    Sure is werid, had tested the video on two older TV boxes . One a technicolor 5 years old and one 3 year old fire tv box. Also runs on the sheild tv 2017 edition (used before my z8) and the movies work great including the z8 and z8 pro at my friends house. Just doesn't work in the pro max. Who knows but definitely a huge drawback for a media player.

    update: I bought a new dji pocket 2 camera and h264 4k 60fps the video plays on the z8 but not the z10 pro max. I also decoded the video on 30fps and won't work. Also h265 60fps and still won't work. But the video will work on my 2018 tcl 4k tv with Android tv. Is my box broken or something?
