  • I have setup a RaspberryPi4 as a NAS using "Open Media Vault" (OMV) 6.0.27-1 with 2 USB HDDs for backups and as a movie/shows storage location for the Z10 Pro Max. It works fine for recording and playing movies/shows using MyTVOnline2.

I can access, copy or delete (Read/Write) the files from my PC that I also setup to access the shared folders. I can also delete the recorded files using MyTVOnline2.

I cannot use VLC or a file browser such as "TV File Commander" to delete the same recorded files or delete any files on the CIFS share. I have checked the OMV settings and all seem to be OK and it does work through the MTVOL2 app.

"TV File Commander" error is: "Read Only Access"

VLC does not show the option to delete the file.

What setting do I need to change to get VLC app and the "TV File Commander" app to be able to delete the files on the CIFS share?

  • There were a lot of security policy changes with Android 10 related to external storage permissions.

This might be related to that.
