  • Hi everyone,

Much thanks and appreciation in advance for taking the time to read my current situation. I have a Z8 box thats a few years old now, and this weird issue starting showing up according to my dad a few months ago.

    • Model: Formuler Z8
    • Retail Box or Provider Box: Retail Box
    • Firmware version: v1.6.5
    • MYTVOnline 1 / MYTVOnline 2 version: v7.15.4
Connection with provider: MAC Address through portal
    • Box connected with: Wifi

Basically, you fire up MYTVOnline2, and you are watching a channel, then after you flip say a few channels the connection cuts out completely and the channels go dark.

Upon examining the top right of the screen, it shows wi-fi is connected, but the bars to the right are greyed out which are the connection from the box to the actual servers, as confirmed with my TVIP Provider. We are connecting with MAC address instead of M3U.

Another thing we noticed, is now when going from home to connect to a portal through MYONLINEAPP2 - it gets stuck at 10% for a VERY VERY long time, before slowly reaching 100%, like i would say it may take around 10-15 mins in all honestly, whereas before it was much quicker.

Thing we have tried so far to try to alleviate the issue, but did not work thus far :

    1) Factory Reset the box completely
    2) Checked for software updates to make sure it is latest, and no updates to MYTVONLINE2 app - all good there.
    3) Removed the mytvonline2 app completely, wiping cache, and installing again from anew.
    4) Tried 3 diff portal urls provided by my iptv provider
    5) Checked internet connection - internet connection is good, youtube app works fine with no lags or anything

I have Verizon as my ISP in NJ, USA - is it possible Verizon could be throttling my connection?

Thanks again for taking the time to read, and help out! Peace + Love

Greyed bars and black screen means, stream from provider was cut or stopped.

Could be ISP or Provider. Would say try with VPN, maybe ISP started to block something or Provider connection needed to long.

Router restart could also help, try it.

At end. i would suggest you to change the protocol from MAC/ID to XC APi portal and to test, i bet it will work much better + Xc Api have more options.

Create new m3u playlist and when MOL2 ask you at end if you want to use XC Portal say yes, xc api portal will be created.

  • Thanks a lot for your response!

Is XC API portal the same as m3u? I believe my provided told me if I switch from portal to m3u I can’t switch back, but I might do that.

Do you have any more documentation I can check on this?

  • If you have m3U data then should xc api portal also work. Create portal use the http portal address, login and password. That's all you need. Check our article on forum, there is how to for this.

  • I would also advise you to read the thread "record one channel and watch another" post #4 by SAM,in which diffrences between Stalker, XC API and m3u are explained. I recently switched from Stalker to XC Portal ,and it works well!
