I was advised that the GTV has been upgraded to OS10. Is that correct? If do, does that mean that you cannot download files to external USB drives due to the restrictions in OS10?

I have a Z10 Pro Max and was advised by Formuler that I cannot download on this box due to these OS10 restrictions.

That`s right, same also with Z11. All since OS 10.

Recording and saving on connected USB drive are no problem, file exchange over network not. NAS using works also fine, recording+timeshift and saving on NAS works. Playing films from nas with external player. Boxes use samba as client but no server running on it.

Thanks for the response. If I'm understanding you correctly, recording to USB drives is possible, yet I can only record live TV feeds on my Z10, not TV shows, movies or PPV. Same with my NAS. Is this typical with OS10?

Live tv recording yes, VOD or Series never was able to be recorded. For other things like file exchange over network this was due google security policy changed. With OS7 like on Z8 you was able to do file transferee and let samba server work on the box on OS 10 it is different.
