  • Hi,

I have the z12 ultra since september and had none of the major problems as reported by other members,in your case i would await the major update thats upcoming and follow the resulting trhread about this update, and than make up your mind about upgrading:smiling_face:

  • I purchased 2 of these the week they were released and love them , never had 1 issue with them Best Formuler yet , I know was pricey but it may be worth it in long run with future update options?? Sure wish formuler would allow multiple recordings , you have a device that allows for multi servers connected at once and if some lines have multi units allowed why can we not record from 1 channel watch another server or even record from 2 different servers at same time that would be a big PLUS...

  • I had him when it came out.

    First minor problem.

Then 3 times factory reset and now it work like a charm since the week of release.

    Never had problem like others.

Maby cause i got am expensive hdmi cable and a known tv brand like the lg 55qned866r.

They work together flawless. i hope the update comes very soon for the users who has problems.

i factory reset it first week, installed and updated it and setup mytvonline3.

Installed disney+, skyshowtime, kodi, nxwitness app (camera's), mx player pro, nordvpn, internet speed test and installend the best 3th party file manager plus. And that's it.

Oh and hb player and bearplayer from other website.

    Works like a charm!

    So happy with it.

  • What is the difference with HDMI then? Why could that cause a problem?

I am still using the HDMI cable of my first box(z10pro) on my z12 ultra,no problems whatsoever!

    The hdmi cable supports QMS.

so if your tv supports it, and you change channel from a Dutch channel (50fps) to an USA channel which is 23fps, you shouldn't see a 2 seconds black screen if AFR is enabled.

If you have AFR enabled and your tv doesn't support QMS you see 2 seconds black screen or so.

If your tv supports QMS (Quick Media Switching)

And you use original cable, you won't see anymore the 2 seconds black screen if you change a tv channel from 50fps to 23fps, or from 23fps to 50fps.

  • Make sure your VPN (if you use one) is switched off before switching on the box for the first time or you could Geolock to the wrong purchase region which essentially bricks it and it needs to go back to Formuler to unlock it.

This info really needs to be on a label on the box or written into the quick setup guide that it comes with.

On the topic of Geoblocking;these are the main reasons

    *Protection against illegal sell on.

*Prevent that boxes from cheaper markets are being dumped and sold on in Europe.

*Take care that warranty and support per region are handled correctly.

    *Protection of the MYTVOnline-software license.

Vpn can be on, but you need to know if you buy an European box your vpn is connected with an European country. And not with usa or so.

But the most people have no vpn on router, but on box itself.

Anyway, you can activate box if you have vpn on your router.

Just check first if you have an European box or USA box by asking seller.

Or simple turn off vpn on router first and or make wifi hotspot with mobile phone before connect to your router.

And hope that the ebay/amazon sellere sent you the right box.

Sometimes american sellers will make a mistake to sell there box to european customers. And then it goed wrong.

I advice always to buy at store in your country.

  • Now I have a problem, when I turn the box on, there is no signal to the television that has to take the power off and wait a few seconds... Turn the power back on and then the HDMI picks up signal again and I get a picture..., when I turn it off again and turn it on again, it doesn't get a signal again, is that the box is a known problem or is there a mistake in the box.

  • Please use one thread for one issue and not two of them with same postings! Decide which one this or other.

In other thread you told HDMI Port switch works now, did you also installed latest Firmware v. 12.10.06?

  • I'm using the included HDMI cable; that should be fine too, I think.

  • ... I bought an ultra high speed hdmi today a good quality cable, the other one also worked from the box itself but I always want to have it perfect 🙈, I have absolutely no problems with it and it works to great satisfaction 👌👌

    Hi,

How much does such a cable cost approx.and where did you buy it?

  • I believe you that this is good one, but why throw so much money out what cheaper also can do?

Since half year i buy only -> this one <-, works great with PC, with Boxes, everything works and certified 2.1 HDMI + 0 issues.

    Spring deal, two for 15€.

Actually,i am still using my 4 year old HDMI cable that came with my first box(z10pro),never had any problems, now working good on z12 ultra.

Nevertheless,i ordered a "better" cable,on suggestion by Lucky133,and i hope it will prevent the only issue i have with z12 ultra, being live channels on occasion getting frozen and stuck, and only way to solve this by restarting box:smiling_face:

Of course it will work but... if you use 2.0 Cable on 2.1 Box and this Box have let me say QMS (Zmini and Z12) and your TV 2.1 too. QMS will not work because 2.1 features are only possible if Box+Tv+Cable use same standard.
