  • I recently bought a Formuler S Turbo and wanted to hook up the sound to my stereo equipment using the A/V out. Doing this the output signal from the A//V out had a strong humm over the audio, making the signal unusable. As soon as the unit is turned on - even with no cables attached to it - the humm starts, which can easily be checked by plugging in a earphone to the A/V out. I returned the device to the dealer for fixing but the dealer is not able to fix it (I sent it back twice). He now tells me he has to wait for a software update which fixes the problem.

I use a cable with a jack as shown above which has two RCA plugs on the other end for the left and right stereo channels. Is this correct?

Is anyone using the A/V out connected to a stereo amp and experienced the same problem?

  • For best audio quality, connect your S Turbo to your Stereo equipment using an optical S/PDIF cable.

If your AVR doesn't support S/PDIF input, you need to source the cable that is diagrammed above.

If the pin-out and dimensions don't match, you will hear humming/buzzing.

Duplicate support requests to the forums and helpdesk will be ignored.

  • AV out is AV out not Audio out you can try gently pulling back the lead it might clear the noise but you will have to be very gentle otherwise optical out to a converter if your eqp doesn´t have opt in

  • Thank you for your quick answer. It would be nice if your information would be written somewhere with the unit which I got. It would have saved me money and a lot of time.

I will try with another cable which has the leads according to your drawing and three RCA connectors. Most likely it works fine, the wires are possibly used in a not transparent way (browsing the net I found more than one way the mini jack can be wired). I also will try using the S/PDIF connection.
