My Z7+ remote can control my Z8 without any modifications. I suspect the reverse can happen also

No,
Both commands are exactly the same frequency. If you put Z8 and Z7+ side by side, with one command (no matter which one), it will control both boxes at the same time.

Some quick comments to the developers of the remote. I really like the remote compared to other boxes, however you may want to consider:
1. Mouse button closer to the arrow keys for a quick switch between scroll (with arrow) and mouse. I found that handy with BuzzTV remote.
2. Maybe include the mouse pad style remote or the gyroscope mouse style.
3. When in the EPG, you can not switch the group.
Otherwise, kudos to the Group, tab, and backspace buttons. Any remote that starts to look and act like a programmable universal remote is a good one.

sorry I forgot to add a funny issue! My Z8 remote turns my electric fireplace on and off with the down arrow!! Not a deal breaker but unfortunate. You might say it is really a universal remote!!!
