So, z8 ist bestellt und in wenigen tagen da 
Anfängerfrage, ist es möglich die Senderliste auf der Box selbst zu editieren, braucht es dazu eine zusätzliche Software oder muss dies vom Provider erledigt werden?

Meaning can you remove certain channels ? No, not with Z8 / MYTVONLINE. You'd need something like Xtream Editor.
I also don't think it's possible to remove certain channel groups unless you use Xtream Editor or ask provider to turn specific channel groups off

If I want to edit the channels myself, do I have to download the m3u file? From the Formuler or from the provider? Then upload the edited list to where?
I register with a MAC address, same process?

Some providers (like mine) for example provide you with a dashboard, from there you can add & remove group channels by yourself. This is really good because you don't have to rely on your provider to do it for you (in many cases they don't bother doing it) Xtream Editor is also an option but it's not free.
