Z8 turns on GREEN light when powered off and no recording set

Hi guys,

I have been encountering this weird problem lately. Sometimes after watching a show on iptv I will power off the z8 box with the z8 remote (box shows red light) and then my Samsung tv with the Samsung remote. Suddenly lets say I come back next morning or later on in the day to watch tv, I notice the z8 box it shows a green light and no one had turned it on. The tv is still off. Why is the z8 sporadically turning on green, when it has been previously been turned off showing red light and all of a sudden turned green while tv is off as well?

I have never recorded anything or set a timer for a recording.

Did you activated HDMI CEC on Z8?

Hi Sam,

HDMI cec was not activated and I had the problem.

I then activated HDMI cec and still have the same problem.

I’m not sure what is going on?!?

Try changing the system power-down mode to see if it makes a difference.

If you have it set to Standy-by change it to Power Off and vice versa.

I have already tried the Standby mode and also Power off mode. Both have shown not to help in this situation. The z8 turns on randomally even with the tv turned off.

Just idea.. Did you check your other RCU`s if there is some button where the Box react when you press button?

Just checked and no other RCU interact with the z8 other than its original controller

My cat sometimes touches the power adapter of the device, it reconnects.

I secured the adapter and became stable.
