  • Hello everyone, :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I'm having a strange problem with my loved Formuler Z7+ Box. Since day one i always got maximum speed on the box. I always got around 90mbs download and upload wich is perfect. I have 100/100 contract. The problem now is that the box no longer receives those speeds anymore. I need to have full speed to enjoy the box to it's maximum potencial as i did for the last year or so. I only get something around 20mbs of download and 90mbs of upload! I have already spoke with my ISP several times about this issue and they say there's nothing they can do on their end. I've tested it with another router and still the problem persists. The box is connected via ethernet and connected to a 1gb router connected to the 1gb speeds router. This router is top of the line. Here's a list of the things i've done to try and fix this problem by my self.

    Factory reset

Factory reset with USB Pen drive

    Restart router

    Reset router settings

    Set static IP on Router

    Static IP

    Different DNS Servers

After doing all of this i don't know what more to do. If someone could give me some help i would appreciate it.

    Kind regards,
    Tom

  • Hi Tom,

do we speak about Ethernet, what is with wifi? Do you use vpn?

Box tested with same isp from someone else to see if it`s your connection?

  • Hello Sam,

Thank you for the past reply. The connection i'm talking about is via ethernet. The exact same results can be seen via WIFI. I do not use a VPN. I don't have anyone i can ask to test with the same ISP as me. If it can help, my ISP is Vodafone. It has always worked, apart from now.

  • Ok, if both show exact same results, then it could be the isp. Vodafone is known for speed reducing and provider banning in case of iptv. Would be helpful to see how much is the dl if you use vpn like express vpn.

  • I just did a test using IPVanish and the results are the following:

    DL:14MB

    UP:80MB

The up speed is almost identical as the speed i get without VPN wich is very good. The only problem here is the download.

  • Yes the dl is to low, up is perfect but the reason for this low dl is really unclear mainly because it came all of sudden.

Try following to find the source of this problem.

    1. End all apps and processes at once: Home Menu -> hold Menu button for 2 sec, and close all apps and processes in background with red button, test dl with app.

    2. Make hotspot with your handy and connect the box with handy, test internet first and try again with dl test. Just for isp compare.

    3. Check in Router if you made some rules for this connected port, green power, etc.and if router received in last time new update? Plug out cable and use other port on router. Change on box to dhcp, disconnect box cable and let her powerless , meantime delete box ip in router and the static ip and all entry from the box, should look like this never been before connected with router. Restart the router, connect the box and test again.

  • Do you have any idea of how to do this part:

"meantime delete box ip in router and the static ip and all entry from the box, should look like this never been before connected with router."

Also what you mean by handy?

Thank you so much for the attention given to solve this issue.

  • You´re welcome.

Sorry my mistake, handy german = smartphone.

Do you have any idea of how to do this part:

"meantime delete box ip in router and the static ip and all entry from the box, should look like this never been before connected with router."

On routers like fritzbox (for example) you can edit each given ip, reserve current ip only to this device and mac address. Under network you can also delete all successful connections to the router. How ever, you did already router reset (each entry was already deleted) so forget this part.

  • Hello,

I have just done all the steps and the problem still persists. Can you explain the last step a bit better? Probably i did something wrong. Should i add a static ip to the box directly on the router or not?

  • Another thing i notice is that when i do a speedtest using the official Ookla speedtest app, it never connects to the right server. What i mean by this is that to do the test it should connect to the vodafone datacenter. In this case it connects to another ISP datacenter. When i do the same thing on my laptop or desktop, it connects directly to my ISP datacenter and the speeds are the normal. Cant this have something to do with the firmware of the box or something like that?

  • Should i add a static ip to the box directly on the router or not?

Yes let box with dhcp setting and in router chose the box ip as static, means the box becomes in future always same reserved address.

    2. would like to know the result from this step.

You can change this in app and choose the datacenter, have nothing to do with box...

  • SAM

I have tested with those settings and i can now get 50mb download and 94UP. I changed the server i was doing the test with and the result as changed to the numbers stated above. It's better, however is not correct still.

I have added the box mac address and put a specific ip adress to it.

  • Hello pistons32

Thank you for the suggestions. The speeds i get on my pc are the ones i should be getting. I get around 95/95. I have tried connecting the box to another router and it did the same thing. The dl speed si low while the up is the normal one. I'm getting 50mbs dl when i should be getting somewhere around 92.
