  • Hello,

I have some problems with scheduled recording on my Formuler Z8.

I tried several times to do a scheduled recording. I am doing the following steps

    1. I go to EPG

    2. I go on the programm that I want to record in the future

    3. I press ok and I am getting a screen where I can insert the starting hour and finishing record hour.

    4. When I inserted everything I see indeed a red button on the programm witch means ist recorded.

    5. 5 minutes before the scheduled recording I get a message if I want to go over to the scheduled recorded program or that I want to stay live where I am.

    6. The moment the recording starts they transfer me indeed to the scheduled program but when I afterwards go check in recordings nothing is really recorded?

    My USB is FAT32 formatted.

    Can someone help me please?

PS: IS IT ALREADY POSSIBLE WITH THE NEW SOFTWARE TO RECORD 2 PROGRAMS AT THE SAME TIME?

    Thank you

    grtz,

    Fabio

  • ...get a message if I want to go over to the scheduled recorded program or that I want to stay live where I am....

The message asks if you want to switch to "Go to Live", "Cancel remind" and "Close" (ignore) message.

This is in case you are for example in VOD or watching another recording to make sure you switch to the Live streaming mode because it is not (yet) possible to watch a prerecorded stream and record another at the same time.

The message does not make a distinction between VOD or if you are already in "Live" mode so the message will always be the same.

For multiple streams there is only a PIP function, but it only works if your provider explicitly supports that, I don't believe Z8 supports multiple recordings (yet).

What is the amount of free MB/GB on the USB device?

When the recording finishes you should get a popup with a message similar to: "You can now watch it from Recordings". Did you see such a message?

  • The feature "One channel watching and other recording" should come until end of this year. For this feature you need 2 lines in one subscription to let it work, same like PiP.

Currently, if you want something to record you need to stay on same channel until recording finish, if you go to other channel the recording will stop.

Best way how to format and to prepare your recording device -> How to format Micro SD card, USB flash drive, pen drive, hard drive or SSD for use with Z and S Boxes.

  • for the moment I have 1,15GB on my USB device. Its FAT32 formatted... Is this enough space?

FHD channels can take approx 1GB or more per hour when recording with MOL2.

Recordings will split automatically across multiple files if necessary. The recording will stop if the storage is full.

Can you plan a scheduled recording and stay on the same channel? If I do so will it record?

You have to stay on the same channel. That is the only way currently, Especially if your provider does not support multiple lines/channels.

  • Can you plan a scheduled recording and stay on the same channel? If I do so will it record?

You can schedule a recording on Channel A and then go watch Channel B.

When the time to record Channel A comes, MOL2 will automatically switch to Channel A.

Unsolicited PMs for support will be ignored.

Duplicate support requests to the forums and helpdesk will be ignored.
