Thank You.
Working fine with my Hisense TV.
Any chance we can get the option of changing the press time that it requires to change from BT to IR to instant in the settings? Like from 3 seconds to instant ?

All working great now

So far I have been unable to find a US reseller for this remote and the usual Canadian seller does not have this yet. But I do have a question for those that have the remote and are using it via Bluetooth: would this turn off the infrared transmitter on the remote? That would be good for me since the Z8 remote interferes with a Vizio soundbar I recently purchased. Thanks for any input you'll can provide!
-
No it dosen't . If you start camera on phone and point IR control at it you can see the light that you can't see with naked eye.
I have just checked and you can still see IR
That's not ta say it won't solve your prob

Bummer! I guess I'll still order the remote once it's available in the US and give it a try. That darn Z8 OEM remote can accidentally control the Vizio soundbar and an air filter device!

Wish i had an air filter LOL

Like i know the new remots are using new IR keys and this should not interfere anymore with other devices.

Thanks SAM! Now if I can only find a US dealer that sells them then I can order it and test it out.

This is wrong.
When paired by BT, there are no IR emissions from the remote until you toggle to TV-IR mode.
Any light you see emitted from the front of the remote while in BT mode is light leaked from the White LED on the top of the remote.
That said, Sam's statement about the new IR code-set in the BT1 remote is correct.
Even if you use the BT1 remote in STB-IR mode, it won't interfere with your other devices.
-
tat2boy that is exactly why I purchased this remote to workaround my Vizio Sound bar.. I spray painted a piece of foil + found where the IR was on the Vizio soundbar, which has been a great workaround... another thing I can suggest for the new remote if you really want it now.. you can go to https://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/formuler/formu…-remote-gtv-bt1, if you add it to your cart, then on the checkout page at the top there is an option to "open a ticket" if you do not see your country in the dropdown. So I opened a pre-sales ticket with their support + they prepared an offline order to ship to me in the States. Shipped out yesterday

This is great news! Can't wait to buy one!

Glad I'm not the only one suffering with a Vizio soundbar that likes the Z8 OEM remote. I was debating putting a piece of electrical tape over the Vizio IR sensor but am holding off in hopes I can get the new BT1 remote soon. If you cover up your Vizio's IR sensor then how do you turn it off/on?
Thanks for the suggestion on the overseas site for the remote but I'll wait for a US reseller for now.

I use the HDMI-ARC port on the sound bar with a Sony TV .. have to use the OEM Sony TV remote to power the TV off which turns the sound bar off as well. Then when turning TV back on with the Sony Remote the sound bar automatically powers back on!

Does anyone know of a US reseller that is selling this remote? So far I've only found one and they are charging $99 which is nearly the cost of a Z8! I opened up a service ticket at https://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/formuler/formu…-remote-gtv-bt1 to see how much shipping is to the US but haven't heard back yet.

Wait a little bit 2-3 weeks until the Market in NA get this remote and then you can buy for normal price. Canada should also get this remote in short.

Yeah, they did take like 3-4 days to respond once I created the ticket, they stated they have been short staffed. They charged a £15.00 Airmail fee on top of the £22.46 for the remote. I believe it came to $48.80 .. they sent it out on Aug 4th + it is suppose to arrive tomorrow/today Aug 8th. I also saw the company selling the remote for $99 haha

They shipped it out August 4th, it arrived in the US on August 6th, my original delivery date was August 8th, but USPS seemed they wanted to hold onto the remote until today when it was delivered haha

Question about the remote, the back of the package says "Mouse Mode" + in the "Set-up Instructions Video" the directional pad also shows option to "move cursor" but I don't see a button to enable the cursor. When I go into the BT1 Remote app on my Z8 + try to set up one of the bottom programmable keys I still cannot figure out how to program it for a cursor. Am I missing something?
-
I had to dig package out. yes mouse mode but I'm sure i read a post on hear that it wasn't a mouse
-
Just found this digging about
"I have the remote in hand, and the button isn’t active in the current beta. It should be accessible in the next official firmware release"
