In order to do this, you need either an M3U playlist or an XCodes Portal connection to your IPTV Provider. Some providers will market an XCodes connection as “multiroom” or “multi-line”, which effectively describes its purpose: enabling you to have two simultaneous connections to your provider. Recording one channel and watching another is also possible when connecting to your IPTV Provider using an M3U Playlist URL, but since those do not necessarily allow you to have two simultaneous active connections, using an M3U Playlist URL to achieve this may actually result in your provider choosing to ban you from their service. Be aware that Stalker connections are single line only and do NOT support this at all.
A good step to begin is to contact your IPTV Provider stating that you would like a multiroom XCodes connection for 2 simultaneous “lines”, as they will most often call them. If your provider supports this kind of setup (most do) then you will receive an email containing:
- A service url
- A user name
- A password
Upon receiving this email, go to MOL2’s menu and select Connections. There, select your current portal (which will most likely stop working anyway as soon as your provider activates your new setup.
To actually delete your current portal, select it using the cursor keys and then press OK; in the subsequent menu select Delete. You may then have to confirm your choice, after which you’ll be brought back to the Connections menu.
There, you will now select Add Connection. In the screen that appears, fill in the Connection Name (which may be anything you like), Server Name and port number (if applicable).
Then check the Require Login checkbox and fill in your User Name and Password in the boxes that appear.Complete the rest of the screen (EPG Time Mode, Channel Grouping, etc.) according to your wishes and then save the settings.
You’ll be brought back to the Connections menu once again, where you’ll select your connection and actually connect to it. Once you are connected to your working multiroom XCodes connection you can start recording as you normally would. Only now you can actually watch another channel whilst recording.
I would probably not have to tell you this, but, obviously, recording requires some kind of storage device to be connected and configured. This may either be a USB device or a network location on a NAS.
When using a USB device, things should be simple enough to get you started. If you run into any problems getting things to work, report back here and I’ll help you out.

Record one channel, watch another channel for multi-connection XC portals, what means this exactly?
This means, your provider XC Api subscription need to have at least two lines/connections to record one channel and watch another channel. With one single line this not work.Once again, Xtreme Codes Api (XC Api) connection with two included lines/connections works and with single subscription line not.
Nice XC Api works, what is with MAC/ID Stalker portal connection?
With Stalker subscription is recording and watching not possible. Stalker use always one single line/connection for iptv and registered MAC/ID address.Means, if you want to use this feature with your box, then you need to speak with your provider and change to XC Api connection.
Does it works with M3U Playlist?
Yes it works also with M3U playlist, but you should first speak with your provider if you allowed to use this feature with single or need two lines at same time for M3U playlist.
The user assumes any risk of ban in this case! This depends fully from your provider and permission. Formuler is not responsible for any bans in this case. Pleas check this first with your provider before you use this feature with your m3u playlist. Is merge possible?
2x XC Api merge is not possible. This MOL2 feature use only XC Api subscription with included multi lines/connections. Some provider give users the possibility to have up to 5 lines/connections in one XC subscription. Depends all from provider. Some supports this and others don`t want to activate this option.
