Z8/MOL2 problems. 4K with TRUEHD 7.1 and ISP LOCK

    • Retail Box or Provider Box: RETAIL
    • Firmware version: v4.1.91
    • MYTVOnline 1 / MYTVOnline 2 version: MYTVOL2 v7.11.1
    • Connection with provider: Stalker portal - ID/Mac registration, Xtream codes portal (XC Api) or M3U Playlist.
    • Box connected with: Wifi/Ethernet
    • Did you factory reset your device? and when?: yes /no

    • Video download url (only https): (if you have managed to video record you’re issue please provide link to the video, upload to free MEGA hoster)

    • What was you expecting to happen?
      1] Play all 4K supplied by IPTV provider
      2] Be able to use my Z8 box anywhere without being locked.
      What happened instead? See below
    • How can we reproduce the issue you are having?
      1] Try to play a film with THUE HD7,1
      2] Try using z8 or whatever in differnt physical location NOT normal ISP.
    • What have you tried if anything to rectify the issue?
      Rebooted daily, refreshed daily,

    I have 2 questions.

    Could be Z8 ONLY or MOL2 or both, I am NOT Sure.

    First question.
    I have trouble with 4K films that have TRUEHD7.1 audio codecs?

    They wont play [or buffering badly] or NO sound

    Is this me alone or is it general?

    Dolby 5.1 etc. seems okay.

    Second Question.
    I tried to use my Z8 to demonstrate to a potential buyer/friend last week [in their house] - 10 kms away.

    I am not seller/reseller just trying to spread word.

    I changed Wifi Network, ok. YOUTUBE worked, great.

    It would NOT start MOL2, maybe it is ISP locked somehow.

    Can I unlock it, otherwise I will not bother to laud this sytem.

    Even more important, if I go away I can't use my system elsewhere?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    My service is great and neither problem affects me that badly but seem fixable.

    Install Audio Optimizer app from Market and execute once but i think Dolby True HD is not included, same like Atmos. For such Audio try to use RAW Modus and pass-through to AVR Receiver.

    Yes this could be the reason for this but set from Provider! You need to contact your provider and ask him.

    Easy to test, create some 24h trial sub. from other provider and test again in friends house or hotspot from your Mobile phone.

    Thanks for your speedy replies.

    I will try first for TRUE HD.

    This bit I don't understand so will not be trying to do it.

    For such Audio try to use RAW Modus and pass-through to AVR Receiver, I will just watch NON HQ version.

    Second one confirms what my provider told me, seems silly to me.

    He says he has to do it.

    In this lockdown world I am not prepared to try to arrange a three way meeting just to show a friend what my/our box/system can do.

    A lost opportunity for the providers, I am afraid.

    Either you use VPN when it doesn’t load (because of ISP block) or you use your mobile data directly/through hotspot. Last option because the mobile internet keeps changing IP address so the block doesn’t stand...

    The Z8 doesn’t support TRUEHD7.1 through MOL. Even when using RAW or PASS-THROUGH in settings. But somehow (I don’t know why), KODI does play and reproduces TRUEHD 7.1 sound on Z8. So you can play them through KODI as files or load your playlist through KODI if you want to play 4K with TRUEHD7.1.

    That’s what what I use to do. I hope it helps.

    I have no problem getting Atmos and Dts X on Mol2 or in the Z8's internal media player.

    On the other hand, it is impossible to do more than 5.1 in Kodi. How did you do it please? Thank you

    Two ways of playing TRUEHD7.1 right now on Z8’s :

    1- By plugging you hard drive containing 4K (TRUEHD7.1) movies and adding it to KODI Media.

    2- If your IPTV contains 4K with TRUEHD7.1, by adding it to KODI. Follow this tutorial :

    Ps. Using your playlist in Kodi only worth it for playing 4K TRUEHD 7.1. Movies. Not for watching channels. Because nothing can beat MOL2 right now for watching channels. Beside that is what formuler value is for...

    Install VPN in Z8 then you’ll be good with watching all programs.

    Had the same issue, after installing it all worked nice.
