We have the option 'backup' called

Sure, which I do. But since we're not supposed to reuse backups between versions, I was wondering if un/reinstalling MTVO2 to troubleshoot would also nuke the groups, after all, we don't get all these software updates because everything is perfect...
Another good reason to write a backup procedure into MTVO2 to backup groups/channels only that can be restored. PITA to recreate a dozen groups with a hundred channels, IMHO.
