Another remote question

Hi,

Just upgraded from the 7+ to the 8 pro, on the whole it's a great device. But I've got a slight problem with the remote, it intermittently doesn't respond. Need to press it 5 or 6 times for anything to happen. Other times it's very responsive. It appears to me to be software freezing slightly.

Is there a fix for this?

Maybe it is caused by some bad software you installed.

Do a factory reset and don't install any junk apps and try again.

Maybe you connected the infrared relay and that's what makes you interference

How about trying with premium batteries?

Thanks for the replies,

Its the IR1 remote, with no apps installed except speedtest as I wanted to check my network connection was ok before posting. the problem existed from fresh install.

Tried new batteries, I think its software now i've played a little more. it just seems to freeze for a while as though cpu/ram is maxed out. But theres nothing running as it happens on home screen too

Test the IR1 on the old Z7+ to rule out a hardware problem with the remote.

Perform all test without the IR extension cable plugged in

I can't try that because it's been thrown out.

The remote problem is getting worse, it's completely freezing now and I need to unplug the box. Then on reboot I need to press the remote multiple times for it to work.

It's not an intermittent problem anymore

Update: it the IR extender. Should have bought the GTV but read the picture quality was better on the z8 pro
