can the original z8 remote be programmed to control tv volume?
I know how to program it for source and tv power .
but if i try to press any other button but tv or source it just exits programming mode.
the remote i have is shown in pic below
how can i program remote for tv volume control

You can only program 2 buttons on the remote. You can program those two buttons to be anything.
As Mevi said, the recommended alternate remote is the new GTV-BT1 Advanced Bluetooth remote.
