Recording issues on channels without EPG

    What I'm trying to do is recording an event with my GTV on a channel without EPG. So I set the start of my recording timer to the start of the event and add x hours to be sure to capture everything. That's how I'm doing it on my Z8 since the beginning.

    The problem is, that the GTV produces no correct recording. Sometimes the recording is only a few seconds long, sometimes a few minutes.

    If you haven't tested it, would you be so kind and test it please? Especially interesting would be a test on a channel where something is aired at time x and has no end defined.

    I was able to reproduce almost same and opened ticket. The problem is this issue doesn`t happen always, therefore harder to find the reason.

    If you want to help in this case with reports, please do following.

    1. Do test recordings.

    2. Instantly after recording stops, check the video and send log if issue happen. (Save such recordings on your box if the devs need it later)

    3. Make video with your phone and show the problem or timeline issue. Please upload the dl link to video.

    4. Only this way we can give the devs material to reproduce the issue. Your reports from past was forwarded but they was not able to reproduce.

    I have found the best way to reproduce the error is recording an event on a channel where only this one event will be streamed.

    If I set my timer to the beginning of the event and add x hours (because I don't know when the event will end) I almost get the error 100%.

    I'll make more recordings the upcoming days and keep the videos created. And if I'm still awake I'll send the logs in ASAP when the error occured.

    But I'm "happy" that you are the first person who had the issue. Everyone else is telling me that it's an error on my end.

    Like i said, it doesn`t happen always therefore it is not unusual if you have this issue and others not. I saw it in my tests until now maybe two times on different boxes (reasons could be stream broken, inet error etc). Mol2 use smart recording, means it still record even if the stream is not shown and comes later back. In past it stopped instantly.

    How ever it would be good to use same protocol because i will test too to reproduce again. Please use XC Api Portal for this so we can exclude playtime limit from Stalker.

    When you reproduce the issue, send instantly the log file to formuler and record with phone your saved recording file, play the file and show what happen. Beginning, middle and the moment the stream or recording is broken + how long the timeline is. Upload the Phone video on streamable.

    Recording will fail if there is nothing to record (the stream has not started yet.)

    This issue was fixed in Z8 series devices in a recent software update.

    It is not fixed in GTV devices.

    Try to work around the issue by setting the start time of your recording to T+5min or T+10mins.

    Unsolicited PMs for support will be ignored.

    Duplicate support requests to the forums and helpdesk will be ignored.

    I have already tried that as well. But this isn't a fix. I still have some recordings that fail.

    But like Sam said I'll send in logs and keep the video material and upload it.
