Cannot get keyboard to work via remote control

I have just gone into add portal on my Z10 Pro and the keyboard comes up at the bottom of the page but no cursor appears and it does not allow me to use it, whatever key I press on the remote the screen goes back to my add portal page.

have I pressed something in error on my remote control

I do not know which button on the remote control brings up the keyboard

I think i have tried every combination without any success

Yes the keyboard goes away when i press the back button but my issue is when I have the keyboard on the screen it does not work so i cannot type anything

There is no cursor to move from letter to letter to input the portal information

How do I get to you the onboard keyboard?

Yes I have Gboard selected

Have i pressed something on the remote that has changed how the keyboard comes up with the Formuler as its fine with my firestick and smart TV just when trying to put in a new server the keyboard comes up much bigger than it used to with no option to be able to move the cursor to type the details

I have just tried to download something from the google play app and the same issue occurs with the remote control

Is there some issue with this remote control since the last update? Its the GTV-IR1 remote

Sam how do I set through the hotkeys please I am a complete numpty with no technical knowledge of any of this so really need some sort of easy explained walkthrough.

I understand not all issues are attributable to updates but its a strange coincidence that this has happened immediately after an update, and am not sure I really believe in coincidence but its a possibility I suppose.

I actually have a wireless pc keyboard but how would I connect it to the Z10 Pro?

Morden2004 I have done that and also replaced the batteries with new one but still have the same issue with the virtual keyboard

I am sorry but how can I be using the wrong keyboard when I have not changed any of the settings also if I do a factory reset I will lose all my current portals (I have two, one live and one backup) if the keyboard still does not work how can I then reload my portals?

I am worried that doing a factory reset will mean I will not be able to use the Z10 without a keyboard

I really do not understand enough to be confident I can get my portals back without a keyboard working

What do you advice please

Sorry I cannot find systemsettings on the main page but going into settings tab it brings up the settings panel on the right hand side of the screen then I go into device preferences then into keyboard (which show Gboard in white underneath it i went into that tab and it shows

Show virtual keyboard when external keyboard is connected

i then went into the Manage Keyboard which shows Gboard on and virtual remote keyboard off

I have no idea how to do a screen shot so have taken photos and enclose them here

I really hope you can help sort this out

Thank you so much for your help and yes I did the above and my virtual keyboard is back to normal as it should be.

I have added the portal successfully too.
