  • I recently bought z10 pro max and testing it out. I tried recording a live show and was able to record and view it but when I schedule a recording, I can see the recording listed in the 'scheduler'. But they are not being recorded even after the show is over. Is there any requirements like, need to have MYTVOnline2 open or some thing I am missing. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

  • I wanted to check what happens at the start of scheduled recording and set up a schedule and watching a different channel. At the start time, a pop up showed asking me if I want to go to the live channel, I clicked 'yes' but another message came up saying the even has already started. So, I tried another schedule and left it at the same channel and still recording didn't start. I tried recording while watching the show and it started recording. Using 'Menu' wanted to check the recording and it said recording empty. When I clicked on 'ok' MOL2 crashed. After I restarted MOL2, the recording had stopped.

From the time I got this box, I had to face one issue after another. When I booted it for the first time, MOL2 was not listed, tried resetting using the pin option, nothing happened. Looked at software update, it said 'error' but didn't give me an option to update. Pulled out the ethernet and with wifi, update option was available and after update MOL2 was listed. Now 'Menu' button won't work so I can't get to VOD. Googled and found out force stopping the app and restarting fixes the issue and it did for me. Now I can't figure out how to get scheduled recording to work.

Product support is non-existent, you are on your own, trying to figure out by watching the videos and googling the internet. I like the features the product is supposed to offer, my question is, how do you get the features to work and do they really work.

I am not sure if I got a bad box or this product is not worth the trouble. I will give it some time and try to figure it out on my own, if not, I may have to return this and get a different product.

  • First, you will really enjoy this box once you sort out all the features and how they work. The second thing is that you cannot watch another channel while you are recording another program. You can however, stream another show from one of your apps, but not the VOD featured programs. Once you respond to the Live TV, the scheduled recording should start and this will prevent you from watching another channel. Hope this helps. Cheers J

  • Jetson,

Thanks for your response. Say, I want to record a show on channel 234 later in the night, do I keep channel 234 running before I switch off the TV. If I am on a different channel, it asks me if I want to change the channel. Is there anyway you can turn off the prompt so it automatically changes the channel. If I want to record shows on 2 different channels, prompting to change the channel defeats its purpose.

The problem I am facing now is even if the tv is on the channel I want to record, it does not record. I can only record live shows so I know I have every thing set up to record correctly but just the scheduled recording does not seem to work.

Any help to fix that is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Do not agree with your comment about non-existent support! If you are angry, because the answer didn`t come instantly or not even after the last 15 hours (your first post), then please read our Forum Rules first.

    1. One single connection in one sub is the most used option on user side, but this have also some negative aspects if you want more and the protocol or your iptv subscription doesn`t allow that. With one connection you have only the possibility to start live recording, watch and record same channel and nothing more. If you want to change to other channel you must end the recording first.

Scheduled recordings should be let in peace, if you try to change something at same time or interrupt the recording, it will fail in many cases. Most scheduled recordings, even with powered off box, starts the box, record and finish at end if everything was set correctly. We can not compare such iptv boxes with cable and sat boxes with constant stream and multi tuners on board. There is big difference in use and logic.

Btw. here is some older thread (many fw+sw changes since then) about scheduled recording and in other threads on forum many more informations -> Scheduled Recording Questions

    2. Here is some how to and explanation, why are two connections in one sub important to have fluid recording or watching one channel and record other at same time.

You can it compare with sat./cable box with two tuner.

Record one channel, watch another channel for multi-connection XC portals, what means this exactly?

This means, your provider XC Api subscription need to have at least two lines/connections to record one channel and watch another channel. With one single line this not work.Once again, Xtreme Codes Api (XC Api) connection with two included lines/connections works and with single subscription line not.

Nice XC Api works, what is with MAC/ID Stalker portal connection?

With Stalker subscription is recording and watching not possible. Stalker use always one single line/connection for iptv and registered MAC/ID address.Means, if you want to use this feature with your box, then you need to speak with your provider and change to XC Api connection.

Does it works with M3U Playlist?

Yes it works also with M3U playlist, but you should first speak with your provider if you allowed to use this feature with single or need two lines at same time for M3U playlist.

The user assumes any risk of ban in this case! This depends fully from your provider and permission. Formuler is not responsible for any bans in this case. Pleas check this first with your provider before you use this feature with your m3u playlist.

    Is merge possible?

2x XC Api merge is not possible. This MOL2 feature use only XC Api subscription with included multi lines/connections. Some provider give users the possibility to have up to 5 lines/connections in one XC subscription. Depends all from provider. Some supports this and others don`t want to activate this option.

    What is with PiP?

All above applies to PiP (Picture in Picture) too.

    3. Correctly formatted USB Stick/HDD with NTFS on PC, connected then with the box, rebooted box (box creates needed subfolders on recording device) and when all recognised correctly also done setting in MOL2->Menu->Settings->DVR Options-> chosing device for recording and timeshift is very important for successful recording.

I am not sure if I got a bad box or this product is not worth the trouble. I will give it some time and try to figure it out on my own, if not, I may have to return this and get a different product.

Of course, always users decision at end.

  • Thanks Sam for your response, really appreciate it.

The instructions provided for formatting doesn't talk about creating a subfolder. Is it a must, the reason I ask is, I was able to record a live show but only scheduled recording seems to be an issue.

Going through this thread, it is quite obvious, scheduled recording seems to be a major issue for some people.

I returned the box because I had too many issues with it and ordered a new one. I will try it out once it arrives, Hopefully the new box doesn't give me that many problems. if I face issues, I will reach out in this forum.

This part was written because i don`t know how you previously formatted your recording device, there is also the option to format with the box and that way is wrong ( it will work but not without some issues) + exfat is not compatible with Z10. Creation of subfolders for recording, screenshots and other things, the box creates automatic when you connect the recording device with the box. Reboot is only to be secure all is mounted fine and initialised.

Some have problems, but in most cases it is also the way and logic of use. For others it works fine. Not to forget, the protocols and provider must also match.

Everything is possible, you will know when the new box arrive.
