  • Hello,

Me and several friends been testing a few things yesterday, according to a EPG issue that popped up on a other well known forum.

Several people where complaining about certain providers that they could only see the EPG for maximum 2 - 5 days back in the past. Aldoh these providers definitely provide a 7 day EPG / Catchup back in the past. Most of this people own a Z11 Pro Max and all run the latest beta version.

I didn't experience any of this issues on a Z8 which I handed out to my girlfriend, since I purchased a Z11 Pro Max for myself on the release date. Went perfectly fine 7 days in the past on a Z8 that runs on the latest official firmware . Later that day I got home, immediately booted up my Z11 Pro Max. That box also runs on the latest beta firmware to check out if everything is exactly showing up the same. And guess what? It also only showed a EPG / Catchup off 4 - 5 days back in the past instead of 7... Exactly the same provider, exact same bouqet.

After that I called a friend that is using exactly the same provider as his main, he owns a Z10 pro that runs on the latest official firmware. And guess what? His EPG / Catchup also went perfectly fine 7 days back in the past.

So my conclusion is that it seems to be MOLTV 3 related... Or Z11 related? Let's just say both, since there is no other box on the market yet with MOLTV 3.

I included two examples for a better understanding. Both examples taken on the same day and in the same hour. ( I don't know why the Z11 tends to do this, but I think the troubleshooting went deeply enough to say it's clearly a MOLTV 3, Z11 bug. )

    Provider A Z8

    Provider A Z11 Pro Max

    Provider B Z8

    Provider B Z11 Pro Max

This issue was forwarded few sec. ago from me to the devs and is now reported. Will let you know if i get some info. Thx.

I'm no expert, but your conclusion sounds right to me. Many of us have concluded that EPG catch-up is very broken on the Z11PM/MOL3, even though it works fine with other devices/software. The beta update released earlier this month did not fix this at all.

We have no choice but to wait for new updates (or abandon ship for another device/app). I've thought of using TiviMate on my Z11PM but decided to continue waiting: I like the design of MOL3 and if they ever get it working properly it will satisfy my needs quite well. (Ask me again in a month or two; maybe my patience will have run out.) I'm somewhat biased toward using hardware and software that were designed for each other (like the Z11PM & MOL3) even though the implementation can sometimes be imperfect.

What makes it even more less understandable is that the Z11 just does what it feels like per Provider. As you can see on the picture's, Provider A is approx 4 ½ day's back. Provider B 5½ days.

We tried it with a few other providers now too, and all of them result in different days back into the past. And then you launch those providers up on a Z8, Z10, GTV, Neo+, exactly 7 day's back into the past.

I fear that the first real answers you have for me / us is "A" certain beta release. 😉 It reached the devs now, and that kind of was our goal. Thx

  • yep having this issue as well ... crazy to think i paid 170 euro for this box :face_with_tongue: people said its the best not even official net flix or anything :face_with_tongue: i sold my shield :P... to be a beta

    tester for this box...

not happy with it (yet) cant send it back.unfortunately, lets hope for the best in the upcoming updates

  • This is not an bug. The software is behaving as expected. It was already explained countless times before.

In the current MOL3 software if you want to access longer catchup EPG, open the Single-channel EPG:

Channel List > Press RIGHT arrow

    or

Info Bar > Press RIGHT arrow

Next software release should include an new option to change the EPG data source shown in the Guide so it shows longer data.

Unsolicited PMs for support will be ignored.

Duplicate support requests to the forums and helpdesk will be ignored.

  • 175n bypass works fine on all the providers we tested. And that where approx 5 - 6 different one's.

We also discovered a little "glitch" by using his method. After we used the "bypass way" and then entered the Guide it showed a EPG off 7 day's back how it's supposed to be.

We have our confirmation that the dev team is aware of if it, and working on it. So for now feel free to lock my thread, and push that next beta release date up 😜😉.
