  • Hello,

Are there any settings on MOL 3, other than buffer size, that I can try to help with freezing and buffering?

I've been having a lot of issues lately and have tried so many different things, I just wanted to check if I'm missing something in MOL 3.

I believe it's a provider issue but they keep having me try all sorts of stuff (reboot devices, try VPN, clear devices and on and on) that are not working.

I've tried Tivimate both on my Z11 and my Android TV and have the same issues. Internet connection is consistently 800-900Mbps.

It's frustrating that my provider seems to believe it's not an issue on their end, especially when everything points to it being so.

  • I have only a 150Mbs line and have only very occasional buffering issues, most likely VPN-related. Likely your provider is overloaded at their end; whether network, servers, or both. Happens with the cheapest providers in my experience. On a side note, I don't really understand why there is even a buffer setting in the app. Buffers don't cost anything. Why wouldn't you want a 10 second buffer at all times?

  • The only streaming app that I have found with more customizing for the length of buffering is the OTT Navigator app. If you set it on longest buffering ahead though prepare for some huge wait for it to start. Both Mytvonline3 & TiviMate only have a couple of limited added buffering settings. Both of these apps both could use some extra settings to help with the issue. The VPN is also a huge factor. I have 2 internet services & both are old & slow like me - 250/20 on wireless home 5G & 230/10 on cable. My router only gets mid 20's down with installed VPN & my other cable internet will get around 50 down with using PIA app & varies some depending on location used. I always use Defsquid as it uses OOKLA for tests which is most accurate. If you sign up for more than 1 service I have found that sometimes changing to the other service will fix the problem. I believe the usage from the consumers on some more desired content in which many are pulling from it on that particular channel will cause some issues at times. Also some services have a few of the same channels in FHD or just HD so using the HD feed may help too. I have sometimes changed channels to something else & it worked ok without buffering so I figure it's them & the usage of the channel by many consumers pulling from the same channel. Of course I use my cable internet w/app when problems arise to get best throughput. I usually don't have too much trouble but it does occur at times for me. I usually use my VPN installed router on my Home 5G unless it acts up then experiment with service/channels/other internet to help diagnose the problem. I am still learning on this myself experimenting with it but from the testing I have done so far it appears to be them when it occurs.
