I usually dont use Dutch subtitles for English/American VOD/Tv series as i find them more of an hinderance than helpful.
However,i started watching an Tv series (mobland) thats full of London Cockney and Irish slang, and at times difficult to follow.
There are numerous translation errors that are annoying,e.g a "grass" is translated as"NL:gras"which means "lawn"in English,Turkey as meaning the country,is translated to"Kalkoen",as the festive bird eaten at Thanksgiving, and many more translations that are clearly out of context.
Is there a plausible reason for this?
Is it a Provider issue?
Anyone else noticed these at times funny translations, also in other languages?
