OS is meaningless if the device does what it's supposed to do and even more so with devices like the Formuler boxes that have well developed firmware. The OS is only an interface for the software that we want to use...

Oreo would only result in the marketing bump of selling a lot more boxes. From a functional perspective if you’re running it as straight IPTV it doesn’t matter.

No one would push an OTA to Oreo 8 anyways. If it was to happen it would go directly to Pie 9 , which is where other Stalker/Middleware solutions are being focused at the moment. Dinobot being a leader in that technology for late 2019.
