Backup and Restore feature works great..
What you need is at least small 2GB USB stick, formatted with FAT32. The stick should be empty, insert into box and restart the box once (other devices from box disconnected!), then go into Backup menu and start with backup.
If have the same problem.
Please update both to latest version and test again with another usb stick. I tested 4 different usb sticks and not even one crasch. Please follow the how to in my post. If the problem appear again, write in detail what and how did you exactly the steps. Start first with formatting the usb stick like in known article.
I did a Factory Reset on my Z8, formatted USB stick according to your instructions.
Still get error message when doing Backup 😒
Please upload the screenshot from error message and text when it exactly happen.

just done backup on 1tb WD. no problem here
Maybe a usb stick is not working.
I've the same issue, Bacup App still crashes
I use tested USB stick 2GB, empty FAT32 formatted.
I also have Z8 and just try to make a backup on an empty 2GB FAT32 USB stick. For me that works fine.
Are you sure the stick is 100% ok? Can you copy 2GB of random files without errors?
What if you put the stick in a PC/Laptop and perform a filesystem check? (chkdsk/fsck)

Yes, i'm 100% sure. I can record at app MYTVOnline 2 and now fill 2GB stick to full capacity a reads back on PC without error.
Now I tried Backup with another USB flash and still the same error.
If more users are reporting the same error, I wouldn't look for a fault in their USB flash drive.
