Is this a new box which you never used before?
Is the remote "STB" light "flashing" when you press the remote buttons?
Try the method powerless box for 1 hour and if the box doesn`t start, take the power supply adapter from your second box and try to use it with problematic box. Just to be sure the power supply adapter is not the problem.
Cheers for that, I've now tried 3 z8 power supplies and still exactly the same. Is there no way of reflashing via usb ?
Formuler Z8 - Recovery Instructions
Built-in #Factory Reset:
*Factory resetting the device will delete all user data and restore the system back to factory state.
-Remove power from the device.
-Re-insert power and rapidly press the red button on the remote.
-The front status light will start to blink red and green.
-Stop pressing the red button
-Press 1 on the remote and wait for the reset procedure to complete
-After the device has been reset, use the Update app to ensure that the latest firmware has been installed.
*important note
Only use this method for system recovery (forced reset) on the Z8 models.
Do not use the other conventional methods with loading command file thru USB on the Z8 models.
It will NOT work.
I have the same issue and have tried this method many times there is no response to an RC command the red light just stays red

Instructions:
1. Check update.ird file integrity before proceeding
2. Copy update.ird to USB root
3. Power off device
4. Insert USB into device
5. Power on device while repeatedly pressing the CH-UP button on the RCU. (Don't hold the button down. Press it repeatedly)
6. Update progress bar appears on the screen. Stop pressing the CH-UP button
7. Wait for the progress bar to reach 100%. The device will reboot automatically when finished.

Ignore the file name, unzip and use as usual.
Read carefully post over yours, all included inside.
Please repeat the FR how to without file. You must try it exactly like described and synchron work is important. Try few times until it work, it works belive me.
If the box does n`t react on any command and do nothing, then contact your seller for warranty.
Hello I have the same problem, there's no green light, only red and white, stuck in boot, never enters the OS.
I have tried the "hard reset" option and the USB method without success many, many times.
In USB method the box starts the installation of the file but when reaches the end it just doesn't boot in the OS, it responds to all the commands from the remote control but never passes the Android logo, and the "hard reset" is never a success.
What can I do different, do you have any other file to install?
