Hello I am a beginner user. Does the Alpha model have SD insertion port? It says it on the site but I could not find it.

No it doesn't have. You were probably looking at the Z7+.

Speaking of Micro SDXC reader, did someone already tested this on Formuler boxes?
-
On my Z8, I tested one with a micro SD in it and no luck.

Don't you need drivers for it to work?

This depends from devices and what they offer but standard functions should be already supported from current drivers.
Today i found my sd reader/writer and tested on Z8 and Z Alpha, here the results:
- Test with Micro SanDisk SD Card (without sd card adapter) and Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.0 SDHC/SDXC/microSDHC/SDXC Card Reader, Black
- First connected both (card and reader) and formatted the card on pc with NTFS
- Connected with Z8 box, started MOL2 and recorded two files. Replay works
- Tested timeshift, works
- On Z-Alpha the same, recording and timeshift works fine
- Because Z-Alpha have only one usb port i tested also the Anker USB 3.0 Hub with included 1Gb Ethernet port.
- To recognise Anker hub, was first box reboot necessary.
- Tested again recording and timeshift, works fine
- Connected all 3 usb ports on Anker hub, all usb sticks and reader are recognised and work fine

- Disconnected the Ethernet cable and connected to 1gb Ethernet port from Anker hub. No joy, must check with Formuler if the driver is missing in current firmware.
Please post feedback with your SD Card reader and hubs to build small database. Thx.
