Hi there I’m using the formuler z8 since more then 1 year, but in the last time my screen turns complete black on the most channels, this happens since the last fw update from the z8. I’m using a vpn and I’m not isp blocked. When the screen turns black. I close the Mytvonline2 App and switch to the tivimate premium app, and there are all channels running !. I was reading many times that people have this problem and there is no solution. Also when Mytvonline2 is Black I can switch to my gse IPTV player on my iPhone and there are also all Channels and vod Running without problems. I tryed cleaning the cache for Mytvonline2 and set up a static IP address in hope of fixing the problem, but that didn’t effect the black screen. Please fix that finally !

Already checked the /c/ on portal login, it’s already removed, I also send the report via android settings

It's no longer fun to look over the Mytvonline2 app, I loved this app. The black screen appears every 30-60 minutes. And all that helps is pulling the plug and restarting. Then it runs again for a maximum of 1 hour. The problem has not only been known since yesterday and the manufacturer cannot find a solution to it, what I find strange is that everything runs purely by chance on the new formula boxes without problems and without black screen. The manufacturer wants to force the customer to buy a new box ... and as I said on the tivimate app, everything runs without any problems. And I keep sending the log files

Did you try a factory reset. I have both the Formuler Z8 and the pro and neither has cause me a problem in the last firmware.

Read so often about factory reset.
i am no newby to technical devices and i never have done so much factory Resets such as on formuler.7+ and z8.

First of all I want you to go to settings and scroll down to apps and click on Mytvonline 2. Clear cache and go back to see if that as resolved it or not. If this did not work. Go to settings again and this time delete Mytvonline 2. Now go to market and reinstall Mytvonline 2 and see if that works. If not come back to this page and I will help you with the next stage.

They have asked about logs from customers with black screen problems, but people just complain and don't send in any logs. They want to fix it, but the ones complaining about it not being fixed, doesn't help Formuler to find the solution either.
The amount of complaints here should have generated many many logs if people just sent them in, but they don't..

I have moved from MOL to tivimate and not using my tv services without any VPN and without black screen issues.

Can confirm on my Z8 and Z8 Pro, Black screen is constant with my Portal connection.
Portal subscription works fine on these devices using the STBEMU app from the Play store.Also, my sub works fine using a GTV.
Can you guys give us some estimate on when the new firmware for MyTvOnline2 will be available?

Have you sent a log to Formuler that they have asked about to fix this problem?
I think SAM wrote that we could expect it late February.

Why they don’t rollback the firmware to the earlier one ? And all is fine, I thinking about buying another device from optic. I’m really pissed off about that problem ! I have done a factor reset and 5 mins later the box automatically upgrade to the newest firmware, I mean why ?!? And the problem is still there..........

I think SAM wrote that we could expect it late February.
That was early January and i told to you for end of the Month is Update planed but meanwhile are they throwing more Hotfixes out. Let as await next major update and see if the devs. found something.

Just something I discovered the last days...
I did not have major problems with the black screen issue so far. Couple of days ago, I upgraded my WIFI repeater to an Fritz Repeater. Suddenly I had very much black screens. Through testing, I discovered that my repeater had a package loss problem.
I changed it to an TP-Link 650 and all black screens are gone for good!
This might not be the overall solution, but I wanted to share my expereince with you.

My experience, maybe it helps...
After extensive testing I dare to say that the black screen problem is related to wether there is a NAS mounted or not.
I have a very stable 5 Ghz Wifi connection with the Z8. My NAS has a 1 Gb ethernet connection with my modem/switch.
With the NAS mounted as playback/recording device for the Z8 it works flawless but once you put the Z8 in standby mode for the night/day. once you switch the Z8 on again, it still has its connection to my IPTV provider (2 different for testing) but watching whatever channel results in a black. screen.
The only solution to get the channels working again is disconnect from the IPTV server and reconnect again.
With the NAS unmounted thru the Z8 menu setup the black screens are gone.
Taking the Z8 out of standby gets me a picture within a few seconds. Day after day without a problem.
So... keeping the NAS not mounted to the Z8 is the work around for me. -
For the future,... how do i set up " logs " so as to send them on, if required

Change the id on the box in the edit portal settings. Choose the custom one for being safe of the issues not returning. Beware that you have to tell your provider the new id to be able to connect again.

Hi sorry for being dumb but what’s NAS? I’m also having black screen issue same as all the above. I’m a total newbie to all this. My issue is when on standby for a few hours and also when I’ve been watching for 60 - 80 minutes. Thanks

You have already posted same in few threads, please stop doing this and read our forum rules first!
Set your box to not go into standby, it should power off and load each time all new. If you use MAC/ID then your problem could be the Playtime Limit from Mol, that cut`s the stream with this protocol after 3 hours. If you want to bypass this, ask your provider for XC API Data.

Hi Sam this is a different (new issue) this is happening whilst watching tv the other issue was after a while on standby.

1. Change to other protocol and connect with XC Api or use M3u to see if this solve the issue.
2. Use VPN, or if already in use VPN off.
3. Try with some other app ( Tivimate or smarters pro) to recheck if this is not provider issue.
4. Test 24h sub. from other Provider, but start first with point 1.

Hi Sam I hope you are ok. My box is getting no internet to it now z8 it won’t even connect to my phone’s hotspot, home wifi or Ethernet, any suggestions please?

I don`t know what settings you have done on your box, sure wifi is on and hotspot works great on phone? Please check with other device.
If you did to much changes in settings and do not know exactly what was changed, would be better to factory reset and set fresh again.

Ok Sam thanks, YouTube isn’t even working now. I eventually got it connected to my phone but still none of the apps work not even YouTube. It says connected in network just nothing works. I never changed any settings the box has been getting worse and worse with issues since I updated it around 19/07/21.

Hi Sam I got the username password for the other kind like you suggested and there is no need to restart at the wall socket now 👍🏻. Maybe it was this or the factory reset worked a treat. Either way my z8 is back working spot on. I can’t thank you enough Sam 👍🏻

We are reseller of Formuler boxes and have recently had waves of clients complaining about the Black Screen issue.
Factory reset does not seem to work and it is getting bad at the moment.

Tell them to use XC login instead or change to custom macid (easiest).
