Z8 pro -picture freezes

Hi, this is a bit of a strange one? I recently upgraded from z7+ to z8pro. However, when I flick between channels it freezes? This happens quite regularly. I then have to flick though other channels to get it to work.

There's no issue with the Internet or iptv provider. When it does play, its fine. Seems to happen more regularly when flicking between fhd and sd. I've been using the previous hdmi lead, not the one supplied with z8 as its not long enough. I tried it with another lead and the issue disappeared. However, today it started freezing again. Do you think it could be down to the hdmi cable? Any advice would be really appreciated!

Hi Tony,

Did you try with other HDMI port on same TV or maybe other TV to see if the issue gone? Normally if Cable and HDMI port are defective, you don`t get picture at all.

At end i think the reason could be something else but it is worth to try.

Hi Sam,

I had the same problem in another hdmI port. I'll try the other Tv. I've also ordered another cable.

Not sure what else it could be? Could the box be faulty?

This has nothing to do with your HDMI Cable or HDMI port, it is your subscription. If you look on freeze channel (right upper corner) you will see 3 dots (network signal), i bet they are empty? Compare with working channel to understand what i mean.

You can install some other app like tivimate and check if your sub. works there without any issues. Just for compare.

That's so strange. I spoke to my subscription and they've done quite a few checks and confirmed everything is good on their side. Could it possibly be my Internet? my powerline plugs have been sporadic

Hi Sam,

I've on a ethernet connection but I noticed the 3 dots we're blank on the freeze channel. Is this more to do with my network provider than subscription?

Try and set the buffer time to 10 sec also you can install speed test app to check what internet speed you are getting.

tried that as well, no joy. Speed is OK and steady.

I also tried testing this on my other providers app and the same issue occurs. I'm not sure what else I can do?

Sure, no stable connection, no joy. Connect your box directly with cable to your router, if all works fine then it is your powerline adapter.

Second test you can do is to get some free 24h trial sub from other provider (because you told provider app have same issue) to see if it is your provider, even if he say everything is fine.

You can also install some trial vpn app and test if your isp doesn`t block.

OK, I did pretty much did all the tests. Tested old box with ethernet, same issue. Tested new box on wifi, same issue.

It seems a mystery though as the speed test results seem the same every time? Over 100mbps?

Your IPTV provider has zero incentive to tell you if there is a problem on their end.

You should try a different provider to see if the results are the same.

Try installing 1.1.1.1 to change the DNS. just turn it on. maybe it will help.
