  • I have two providers A&B on my z10 pro. I am used to manually connect/disconnect between them, each time you will see the loading of the provider (10%-89%-99%-100%),and the switch is completed.

This afternoon i had set a reminder for a tv program on 5 pm on provider A, before that I was watching a program on provider B,for about 1.5 hour.

To my surprise just before 5 pm there was an automatic switch from provider B to provider A,and the channel came on,without seeing the loading process to provider A,it was a clean switch just like you see on the Z11promax,is this supposed to be a normal event for the Z10pro ?

I always understood on the Z10pro,you can only switch between providers manually,as only one of the two providers is active (connected) ?

Both providers are on XC connection, and I use VPN

Anyone out there with similar findings or an explanation ?

  • By the way by trying again to set a reminder on one provider and going to the other just before the reminder started a pop up menu appeared with the options go to live, cancel remind and close.

when you choose non of them the loading of the provider starts 10% etc and the reminder starts, visible on screen.

I think in the orignal observation i chose close and the loading of the provider was not visable.

However i still dont understand how setting a reminder can result in switching between providers?

  • I don't think so. I routinely set a reminder for a program on provider "A" and while watching provider "B" the time arrives and the program begins - except it pulls it from the matching channel on provider "B"! No automatic switching of providers is happening.

  • Thanks for your reply,Morden, but the fact is I can see the proces of loading to the other provider happening, you know 10%>89%>100 %. I also expected the reminder to be ignored, whilst watching the current provider B,but the switch to provider A is made!

  • if you want to switch automatically between to operators you can do that the folllowing way:

merge the 2 m3u files, load the m3u file on your usb stick and load it in formuler, now you can use picture in picture, record one channel while watching another and change channels, just like its possible in z11, epg is also possible

  • Thanks retep fot the tip,but i still can not explain how it is possible for two providers ,both on XC connection, can switch automatically, without switching manually,as i described in my first post.

A pop up menu appears at the time just before the reminder-go to live, cancel or close-i you simply dont choose any of these options, the loading to the other provider starts automatically, without any further interference of the user.

I set my reminders from channel history, maybe this may play a role as well?

  • Hi,all, unfortunately this thread is heading into a direction that was not intended, namely how to make a z10(mol2) artificially towards a z11(mol3).

What I just wanted to point out is that a switch between 2 providers does not allways goes via mol2 menu>connections, but can also happen in the way described in post#1,so without manual intervention(menu mol2>connections>switch)

The easiest way to illustrate whats happening would be to make a video of it,unfortunately due to rheumatic hands i do not have a smartphone, because i cant handle them, but i will ask a friend to help me out with this, but this may take a while(holidays!)

In the mean time i would challenge everybody,to reproduce my findings,as described in post#1

  • I was afraid this would be the case, i made the video with a sony DSC-HX60 compact camera,it was quite a hassle to get it done, the original video was 15 minutes long, and i downloaded it to my Laptop,to upload to streamble.com.

In the process of editing the video to about 4 minutes something must have gone wrong, the edit arrows would not stay in place where i dragged them too.

To make along story short,i give up,as i otherwise will have to get a paid subscription from streamable, which is way to expensive for my needs.

I hope somebody can reproduce my experience as described in post1,and post a video with a smartphone i dont can handle!

  • Please note, for streamable the uploaded files must be less than 250mb.

  • Or below 10 minutes?

  • Didn`t read anything about duration limit, just a file size.

  • Hi, SAM,i tried again by way of recording a video with my laptop.

It should now be visable https://streamable.com/snuk1x with the following code WIN_20230728_19_17_19_Pro.mp4

I can play it on my laptop,so i hope it also works on the Forum!

This video shows the essence of what is described in #post1,on provider B (nickname neo) a reminder was set for the show House for sale,at channel NL:"NPO1,subsequently provider B was disconnected via menu>mol2>connections,and provider A was connected and set on the channel EU|germany:SAT 3.

Recording was started at the moment the reminder pop up menu showed on SAT 3,and without going back into menu.mol2.connections,the switch to provider B (neo) was made! :face_with_open_mouth:

  • I don't think so. I routinely set a reminder for a program on provider "A" and while watching provider "B" the time arrives and the program begins - except it pulls it from the matching channel on provider "B"! No automatic switching of providers is happening.

The video i made shows otherwise, there is definitely a switching of providers to see,and no pulling of matching channel on same provider

  • To be honest, i see this switch for first time  See it as feature and not bug if it works fine. On other Provider B you was able to dismiss the recording, so all fine.
