No onscreen keyboard

As the description says. When i select something that requires the on screen keyboard it does not pop up.

Box Z11 pro max

I setup the box and went to setup my Wifi. after selecting my wifi I get to the password screen and I can only enter numbers with the remote. The on screen keyboard that pops up doe snot show up.

I then went to try and do a factory reset and the same thing I can only enter the pin and then can not click the check mark to continue as there is no onscreen keyboard.

I double checked the keyboard settings and they all match my other box

Please send logs right after the issue reappears following the next instructions: How to send logs

Let me know the tracking number for the log.

Had same problem with a new box I set up for a friend.

Had to do a manual factory reset. The pin code wouldn't work for the reset via menu.

I've just got the Z11 pro max today and I'm having the exact same issue.

The keyboard popped up to allow me to enter my WiFi details but after that it doesn't pop up so can't sign in to anything.

Have done a manual system refresh but still have the problem.

Please all in this thread just follow how to send log file and send it please.

How to send log.file:

Restart first your box, try to bring up your kb, try once again, go instantly to home menu-> settings -> device preferences ->About-> report problem -> click on send logs and post Tracking#: xxxxxxxxxxxxx in other thread. thank you.

Same here.

Z11 Pro , Z11 Pro Max.

This only seems to happen when initializing a new box.

I have tried it on 4 new boxes. Did several hard resets. Tried changing the keyboard settings. It only fixed it on one box but only temporarily (as soon as the keyboard appeared and I selected the first letter in the URL setup, the keyboard disappeared).

It seems that a fresh install of the NOV-28 version is causing the problem.

I checked a Z11 Pro Max that was initialized 6 moths ago and recently updated to the newest version (NOV-28 release) and it does not have this problem.

I also checked a Z11pro where the latest update was not installed yet and it does not have this problem.

It seems that the keyboard has been enhanced to show keyboard navigation tag (at the bottom of the keyboard). This tag actually blocks half of the bottom row keys.

The new keyboard is also semi-transparent now as I can see the labels behind the keyboard. (good idea but a bit confusing).

I hope that this is fixed soon as I can no longer sell the Z11s.

Hello all,

For a temporary solution, please try to access 'Home screen > Settings > Apps > find Gboard in system apps > Delete data & cache' and check again.

The logs will be forwarded to the developers for further analysis.

Mine seems to have started working again following an update to the Gboard app 👍

As suggested, I cleared data and cleared cache....The keyboard came back.

However, if you restart the box, the keyboard does not work and you have to clear data and cache again.

Looks like the new version of Gboard has an issue.

Notice the navigation label which blocks part of the bottom row of the keyboard and the semi-transparency (you can see the labels behind the keyboard)

For those who are still having the same issue after clearing cache and data, please go to Market app on the home screen and install the Gboard app under the Utility row.

The official update to fix this issue will be released soon.
