  • Device is set to go to standby when power button pressed. The main LED will go from white to dark/off.

Pressing power to resume, the main LED will go white for a few seconds then dark again. It will do this usually for four attempts (but infrequently might take about 10 attempts/cycles).

In the final attempt (where the device recovers) the main LED will go white, then red, then white again and the screen will show the Formuler animated logo and the device behaves as if booting up from a cold start.

It appears as though the device is having some kind of error resuming a few times and then recovers by fully rebooting.

Rarely the device will successfully go to standby and resume normally. The device often wakes from standby on its own - actually, I can only say for sure that it is powered on when I return after putting it to standby previously.

I upgraded from Formuler 8, which previous device would happily go to standby and resume using the remote control power button.

This device is far superior to the F8, so generally happy. This recover from standby issue seems the only fault.

This behaviour was in place before the recent (February 2024) update and is still an issue after the update.

(FYI The F11 device is plugged into Ethernet RJ-45 with WiFi disabled and HDMI to a digital HDMI splitter. NordVPN is installed.)

I have not tried factory reset yet (to avoid having to reset up device but happy to if that seems the actual solution).

I am on a mobile device and cannot (yet) locate the search function on the forum.

  • Google play store, (my profile), manage app as and games, updates… shows “no updates available” even after I check for updates.

I am curious if this is a known issue. If not, I can factory reset.

I also forgot to mention important fact that I have a USB 2.5” spindle hard drive attached that is pulling power from the Formuler device (the drive is not independently powered).

    I will

Detach that for a while and see if difference.

  • I have experienced the same issue. I have 2 Z11s and it is happening on 1. Its not very frequent, however, when it does happen I have to pull the power cable and reinsert.

  • hi guys

Also here from time to time some 'strange' behaviour, but very difficult to reproduce.

Z11 PM always goes to standby ; sometimes to standby from MOL3 and sometimes to standby after closing all apps (incl. MOL3) ; no updates available on google play.

What can happen after trying to turn the Z11 PM on: sometimes white light -> red light after about 5 sec (retry a few times by long pressing 'on' -> sometimes Z11 PM completely restarts, sometimes I need to cut powercable) ; sometimes white light -> no light at all (also here retry a few times by long pressing 'on' -> sometimes Z11 PM completely restarts, sometimes I need to cut powercable).

  • Issue still manifesting despite disconnecting the external hard drive. So that does not appear to be related.

Earlier today the main LED was white but screen output was black. The light would flicker to indicate the control buttons were pressed but nothing visible. Pulled power and plugged it back in and it came back okay.

This evening the device was on when I returned home. Its working okay but I had put it to sleep this morning when I left and would have expected it to still be asleep when I came home.

As a test, I put it to sleep just now: the main LED turned red, I waited 20 seconds and tried turning back on (resuming) the device. The LED turned from red to white but audio clicked as if reinitialising and sure enough Formuler logo came up as the device booted up as if it was powered on from off.

  • While it’s not as clear cut to be able to say that removing the peripherals sorted the issue immediately, the device has largely stabilised over the last month since removing the (unpowered) external hard drive and (powered) HDMI splitter.

Inconsistently, for the first few days, the device periodically rebooted and required power to be pulled but for most of the last month it has been 99% stable.

I reattached the hard drive and splitter about 5 days ago and it worked fine for a few days but I have just had another reboot.

I still can’t be 100% certain of the cause but I did enjoy a period of stable use for about three weeks there without the hard drive and splitter attached.

(Possibly unrelated but I should mention that I have also stopped turning the Nord VPN on and off, leaving it on all the time now)

  • This thread is the biggest reason I went back to using my Z10 Pro Max. My Z11 has these same issues. 1). Put Z11 PM to sleep....when I power up, the Z11 PM is on main screen and I have to click on MYTVonline3 to get back to channels. 2) Other times when I click to sleep I get the dreaded no light on the box and the only way to get it to work again is unplugging.and plugging back in to restart. I have tried and have been unable to recreate any scenario where I could send a log or screen shots. I have tried with USB and no USB. Hardwired to Modem and Wifi both the same. I cannot figure out what is causing this as it seams random. As above there are times it works fine for a few days then does it a lot over the next few days.

  • I should also note that I have tried Factory Reset a couple of times and loaded newest software and still continue to have this issue. Thus the going back to using Z10 PM. While I prefer the Z11 MOL3 software the issues listed is causing me not to use the Z11. Also no updates needed for Google Play Services. Xcapi IPTV service.

Such things can happen if the HDD power consumption is higher than from spec. allowed, ssd should work correctly with same config.
