Network storage auto-reconnect (feature request)

I have same problem with nordvpn.

When nordvpn is off and i restart box the nas connected itself and stays.

When i use nordvpn and restart box, nas will connect and disconnect after my vpn is connected.

So what did i do?

I used splittunneling. And i put seriously ALL the apps from the list in nordvpn inclusive systemapp to the split tunneling side. (That means no app use nord vpn anymore.

I restarted box. And nas connected.

Then vpn connected and the nas disconnected again.

Strange, because i put ALL apps from the box inclusive the systems apps to the splittunnel.

In short: i have vpn, but none app is protected by nordvpn.

And my NAS still disconnect.

So it's a box problem maby or nordvpn.

But later this day i contact nordvpn costumer service. The answers are really good and fast.

Which vpn do you use?

Temporary fix: after your vpn connected you can add the network storage manually back. And at power options you can set the box to standby.

So conclusion is when the NAS connect at startup and when vpn after that connect it disconnect automatic our NAS with my nordvpn and with your proton vpn. Have it on my z11 and z12.

So the temporary fix is only connect manually your nas after your vpn is connected.

But if it happens at two boxes and with 2 different vpn's...

...maby the firmware needs a firmware update.

When i remove vpn it works fine.

When i install vpn and splittunnelling serious all apps inclusive the system apps it connect also the NAS, but disconnecting after vpn is connected. But all apps are in the splittunneling???

do you guys have a NAS, and other vpn then protonvpn or nordvpn? And can test it?

And do NAS connect at startup with the box and disconnect when the vpn is connected? Also if you splittunneling all the apps inclusive the system apps?

Can somebody with a NAS (hardwired) to the router just like me, and have another vpn provider than protonvpn and nordvpn test if the nas connect and then disconnect?

So i can find out what it is. Box or vpn.

I think already carefully the box, cause protonvpn and nordvpn disconnect nas.

in short summary: box is started up, then connected to nas. Then makes the vpn connection and when vpn is connected it disconnecting the NAS. Also with ALL APPS splittunneling! (including all systemapps and mytvonline3.)

When i check with ip app from google playstore, i have the exact same ip address what nordvpn gives me.

Note: I use a raspberry pi 5 with openmediavault

They should extend the time to reconnect to 30 seconds or so.

I have just got a Z11 pro max and have issues with Nas also, when nord vpn is off z11 connects no problem to nas and as soon as I re-establish the vpn on the z11 the nas connection disconnects, I tried split tunneling sevices in nord vpn in fact I've split tunneling every service and z11 still want mount to nas when vpn is up,

Apologies if this has already been discussed as I've just joined this forum but would appreciate as help with this issue 😀

Same here, i mount nas after nordvpn is connected via android menu right corner.

it now stays on cause i set it from shutdown to standby the box.

what information do you put in the ip address ?
