  • Hi,

I just bought this usb wifi adtapter, hopping to get a better internet conection (Tenda U12 ac1300), with the chipset RTL8812AU. But the box wont recognize the adapter

How can I enable it? Is there any way to install the drivers? Isn't the box supposed to reconize this chipset?

    Thank you for your support,

I'll ask the engineers if the drivers can be added to a later firmware release.

Unsolicited PMs for support will be ignored.

Duplicate support requests to the forums and helpdesk will be ignored.

  • you can't but you can purchase the W2 - 600mbps wifi adapter or the W3 - 1200 mbps wifi adapter $20 & $25

my Z7+ came with the 600 but wanted better speed so I got the W3's

I have tried to buy one dreamlink adapters, but I couldn't find a store that sells to Portugal ☹️

So bought one that has one of the chipset in the compatibility list.

That would be great, thank you so much.

I'm from Portugal, I couldn't find any online store that sends one of the dreamlink adapters to Portugal. And if I find any, probably just transport cost would be higher than the adapter it self.

    Thank you

    You Guys are AWESOME !

I've just downloaded Beta Version 1.2.34, I saw you guys included the drivers for this wireless adapter

    But,I can't get it to work

I have disable internal wireless, plug the adapter into the 2 usb port, restart a bunch of times, and I can't conect trought the adapter (never see it blink any light)

But when I connect the USB wifi adapter, I can't enable internal Wifi (this tells me that the USB adapter is doing something, and the box is reconizing something related wit wifi is connected)

Anything I need to do to enable the usb wifi adapter? any suggestions?

Thank a lot for you support.

  • The engineers added the drivers, but we don't have this adapter at our offices, so there was no way to test if it works or not.

We were hoping it would just work without issues, but it seems that there needs to be some extra intervention to get the adapter to function properly.

If you have a linux machine and can provide the lsusb output when the adapter is plugged in, it could help us narrow down the issue.

Otherwise, we would need someone to mail us their adapter to look into it into more detail.

thanks for your reply, and all your efforts to add this driver. I understand that you don't have a way to test it. Unfortunately I don't have any Linux to help on this ☹️

Again, thanks a lot for your effort. It is good to know you listen your clients 😉

i have linux , when i arrives i`ll be able to help you out, how do i find this lsusb output ?

  • The engineers received the Tenda sample and updated the drivers.

The Tenda adapter will work when the official software is released.

  • I have the same issue, although it's linksys adapter with the 8812au chipset.

    Simply won't see it.

As we will have updated the 8812AU drivers, this adapter may work when the official firmware update is released.

  • You'll laugh at what I did.....

Took the device back, and grabbed another router, put it into wireless repeater mode, attached the lan cable.

Now I'm pulling between 100 and 150 on speedtests.... my internet connection is 150.

I'll be interested to find out if the drivers work for others though, as this adapter was available at walmart.
