Yes if you enable hdmi cec the box will turn off with the tv.
If you post the exact model number of your TV, I'm sure someone can try to help you get it setup. (if your TV supports it)

On Z8, enable CEC "Turn off with TV"
This means when you press the TV power button, the Z8 should turn off.
On your Philips TV Enable EasyLink (CEC) and enable "One-touch standby"
When your TV and Z8 are both on, press the TV power button. The Z8 should shut-down with the TV.
If this doesn't work, check to make sure you have the latest firmware installed on your TV.
If your TV has the latest firmware, please refer to your TV user manual, page 42.

My LE32s86bd Samsung has Anynet+ enabled (after entering it in service mode) but powering on-off wont work either.
CEC is not working with my Sharp or RCA TVs as well. It's enabled in both the Z8 as well as the TVs and CEC works with other devices on those same TVs.
Hi guys ! 7 just I just bought the z8 ... Me too the hdmi CEC do not work. I also have a samsung ue65. This is not the only thing that bug. But wait a little, this box is very young and the team formulate is very responsive
Hi, I have a Sony Bravia, power off seems to work fine using CEC but I cannot get power on to work, in fact I can find no button on the Bravia remote that will power on the Z8 so I need to use the formuler remote for this, is this a bug? Love the box in general but having the Z8 power on using CEC would be very handy.
No it`s not bug, work only with "power off with TV". Will discuss with Formuler about CEC next week and ask if they can implement also the function "power on with TV" if possible.

Samsung, my TV turns on automatically when HDMI device is turned on. There is no option on my TV to turn this off.

It's not supposed to turn on lol
It is a pain not having it turn on with CEC as I can use the Sony remote for everything else but if I use the turn off with CEC I have to get the Formuler remote out just to turn it on so I tend to not use the CEC off and just leave the Z8 on all the time which I would prefer not to do, every other CEC device I have used can turn on AND off with CEC.
Apart from that, great little unit
