Have you tried disabling WiFi when Ethernet cable connected. Might need a restart.
Also disable IPV6 in Router and box. Last Update should also be installed there was in last official also some improvements.

I have disabled both and still no joy. Very frustrating

Disable Wifi and Connect the Ethernet cable to your device.
Open the Youtube app and tell us if it is working or not.
Open the 'IP Settings' in the Network Settings menu and make sure DHCP is enabled
Open the 'Proxy Settings' in the Network Settings menu and make sure it is set to None
Uninstall any DNS or VPN apps from your device.
Restart your device and check again.
If you continue to have problems, perform a factory reset of your device and try again.
