we have same issue
Samsung TVs have an automatic HDMI detection function.
You may find sometimes it says searching devices.
It’s an awful pain in the backside!
Never fear, you can turn off the function but Samsung doesn’t publicise it for some reason.
I had the same issue. It’s not because of the GTV
To turn it off so you manually change the source instead of your TV choosing to do it, do the following: (it may not work on all Samsung’s but worth trying)
You need to select normal digital TV (freeview in the UK) ensure you’re NOT using anything in HDMI to do this.
When on digital tv source
Press remote control buttons in this sequence
MUTE > VOL DOWN > CHAN DOWN > MUTE
You won’t get a notification on the screen however once you’ve done it, plug back your HDMI devices in and use your TV as normal.
It should stop the auto hdmi detect.
To turn the feature back on, you’ll need to reset your TV.
I hope that works for you
Yeah its called anynet+ (hdmi cec) what needs to be turned off. Its under setting-general-external device managment or something like that. I guess so. So far it did not turn on

Anynet+ Turned off doesn’t make a difference to the HDMI auto detect feature. That’s a separate feature.
For me it did work. Its not turning on itself anymore.
For members who own a Sony TV. I have the same issue solved on my TV. Here is the trick.
Turn on TV and go to settings.
Go to external inputs.
Go to Bravia sync settings.
Turn off Bravia sync.
It works here.
What about other connected devices you want to sync

I do not want to sync. My logitech does it all. Switching all the needed devices at once.
I have a Samsung TV and a Z8. I had to turn of "Turn on with TV" in Z8 CEC settings as my Z8 was also being first turned on by the Samsung, which also turned on my AVR. Now I have to use 2 buttons to power up, the STB button to turn on the Z8 and the TV button for the TV and AVR, but just the STB to shut down. HTH
I have a SONY Bravia XBR TV and the GTV POWER button starts the GTV which kicks the SONY on and that starts all remaining connected devices. Works well.
Anyone any solution for Philips TV? I am experiencing the same.
I have a similar problem using LG TV. The GTV powers itself up about once every second day.
