  • the LED from the device is very bright and lighting up our whole bedroom at night. How can I dimm it or turn it off without turning off the device?

    Not possible right now.

Place a piece of black electrical tape over the LED or put the STB behind the TV

  • whohoho... what a design flaw.

Many people have a media player in the bedroom and it is a well known fact that people do not tolerate bright leds at night. By the way, that brings us back to the subject that your remotes have no backlighting and people need to shine with their mobile phone on the buttons if they use it in the dark...

I am industrial design engineer and I offer you my services if you design a new device. There are soo many things to improve in Formuler media boxes i start to wonder if you follow standard procedures of industrial design and ergonomics. I would love to give you feedback.

It's good feedback, but although I'm not an engineer or designer, personally I reckon that LED isn't that bright and strong and it's a way that you can see whether it is working or not. Also, it let you know that the device is there.

A good remote is designed so you don't have to look down at it when using it. The new IR1 remote is designed in this way.
