  • I received my new Z10 Pro Max today and immediately set about to install my provider and update the software. Both went well and I soon had channels running. Since my Z10 Pro Max test location was on my computer desk (HDMI to one of my monitors) and about 10 feet from my GTV/Sony TV, I soon noticed that my GTV was tracking my Z10 Pro Max channel changes! Damn!

The remote for the Z10 Pro Max also triggers the GTV! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I need to investigate my options as I'd like to have both boxes on the Sony TV *but* using unique remotes.

    Any suggestions?

BTW, this Z10 Pro Max is awesome! So far I see no major drawbacks as compared to the GTV (which I absolutely love).

Cheers from The Bay Of Fundy (Nova Scotia)

  • Unfortunately, that seems to be not possible. The Z10 is IR only so that remote (GTV-IR1) controls it fine and the GTV remote (GTV-BT1) does not affect the Z10. But, the Z10 remote does affect the GTV! I cannot find a way to disable the IR function on the GTV.

    Anyone?

  • Options:

Buy another BT1 for the Z10 (Best option)

Put the GTV in a drawer or in a place where the stray IR signals can't get to it.

Attenuate the IR signal coming out of the front of the IR1 remote by putting electrical tape over the front IR window of the remote. Leave a small hole for some IR signals to escape.

  • OK, some great ideas -- even if a bit unorthodox. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

The Z10 came with an additional remote but, alas, it too is IR.

  • I too had this problem, with the Z8 and the Z10 communicating with each other. My GTV however, came with a Bluetooth remote, and it is fully compatible with the Z10 STB. So I now use the GTV remote for the Z10 and the regular Z8 remote for the Z8 STB. It was Sam that helped me sort that out, as well as the Formuler Team ny advising me to get a Bluetooth remote and as it turned out, I had one that I could use. Many thanks to the team for always being available to help. Cheers - J

  • Now the Z10 Pro Max is stuck in a never-ending [Searching for accessories...] in the Remotes & Accessories setting! It will not end!

I didn't think the Z10 had Bluetooth? The remote is IR only! So why is the box searching for Bluetooth accessories?

    Help! ???

  • Did you pair something in last time with the box?

Settings ->Device Preferences ->Security & restrictions-> Allow incoming BT pairing requests off.

No. I did a very basic 1st time setup. I keep checking but the Z10 has not found any accessories yet (LOL) and it's still looking.

    Odd?

  • I had the same problem and could not get it to stop until I actually paired my GTV remote to the Z10 STB. It will continue to search until you give it the pairing command from the remote. hope this helps - J

BINGO! I paired one of my Logitech DeNovo Edge keyboards and sure enough, it stopped.

    Thanks!

  • Press BACK on the remote to exit out of the pairing menu

Yes, I was doing that but that doesn't end the "searching". It is a very determined box! :face_with_tongue:
