Yes that works, but i want the normal volume buttons to do that 
open app "formuler remote".
Select the remote you have.
Choose "setup volume control"
There you can select to use the remote for the soundbar volume or android box volume.
(With my bluetooth remote i can set it, dont know if it works with a infrared remote.)

The feature you're looking for is available on the Formuler GTV-BT1 bluetooth remote.
It is a highly recommended addition to your new Formuler device.
Then maybe in the future, hotkeys working fine. Not perfect, but it works

I have the same issue kinda... i have the BT1 remote but to be honest i tried allot of figurations but i can't get it to work properly. Also a Samsung sounder.
on the LG NANO866NA TV i have E arc enabled. works like a charm with the soundbar. Both ar E-arc devices.
When i plug in my new Formula Z11 Pro Max i used HDMI port 1 on the tv. To get sound i need to change the sound options on the TV to loudspeakers (internal) and then i will hear the sound coming from the Formuler. So to be clear, there is not a connection between the Formuler and the soundbar directly through a cable. Im relying on the wish that sound and image wil be passed through from the formula to the TV, that the tv is set to E-Arc for sound and that it will transmit the volume / volume control to the soundbar.
With the app for the remote i assigned the TV IR on the LG that makes it possible for the Formuler Remote to lower and higher the volume on the tv. For sound i selected the Samsung soundbar and it eventually worked that, when using the formula BT remote volume button i could see a increase on the display in volume on the soundbar. Problem however is that i still can't hear anything.
Anybody a idea how this is resolvable? what am i missing?
Seems liked i solved it. TV has multiple HDMI ports. the standard ports but also a 4K port. using that one with de formuler fixed most of my issues.
