Firmware : v.1.6.8 Final Beta

WARNING:

Install and use at your own risk. Software cannot be rolled back after installation.

If serious errors occur, please do factory reset.

Please keep in mind, this is Beta and could have also bugs or act unstable, it is for testing and not for productive use 24h with the box.

If you don`t want to test, please wait until official comes out. No Forum support in other threads if beta is in use, beta issues should be discussed only in this thread.

HowTo Install:

Home Menu -> Software Update -> press "0227" -> Red Icon and Beta Test SW appear (right corner) -> Press Red Button -> Now is the Firmware shown, press now "OK" button for install.

The install process and reboot works automatically! Please don`t turn off the box or plug out the power supply, could damage the box. The reboot after update needs always much longer than usual, please be patinate and let the box finish the install. If necessary reboot later once again.

Beta FW 1.6.8 discussions only in this thread here. Other open threads with Beta issues will be deleted instantly!

We need to collect data and feedback's on one place, thank you for your understanding.

Hello, do you have an estimated release date for the official firmware update?

For over a week now, I’ve been experiencing an issue with my Formuler Z8 in the VOD section of the MyTVOnline 2 app. When I try to resume a movie that I previously stopped, it automatically closes. I’ve already cleared the cache and app data, restarted the STB, and even performed a factory reset, but the problem persists. Will the upcoming firmware update fix this issue?

No you issue can not be solved with Firmware update, the issue you have could also be provider depended.

The Name say -> Final Beta. Means it will come one final official update in next 1-2 weeks and this was then the last update. After that, the support will stop because the box is already legacy.

That is not helpful. Bug fixes, optimizations, and performance enhancements could mean anything.

Would also like to know if subtitles is fixed in the final update.

Subtitles from MOL2 (that is not part of this update here) have nothing to do with the Firmware from the Box. Its same like Bios on Computer.

Thank you for this update.

I'd be happy to test, but the inability to roll back is holding me back. Since this is the final update, I'd be cautious about installing the stable release, too.

Granted, I never had issues with Formuler updates. They've always been stable and reliable.

In the rare occasion that something goes very wrong though, not being able to roll back is problematic.

I hope your newer boxes are more flexible in this.

Installed update on 1 of my 2 CC devices. After about a week, the OTA stopped transcoding signals. Signals showed in scan, etc, but channels would not play. I tried everything shy of a master reset as I didn't have the time. Swapped my other CC in the same location and all works fine. I won't be installing the update on that one for the time being.

Your issue with OTA Signal must have some other reason because the Firmware doesn`t change anything in MOL2.

Windscribe VPN seems to be missing. It can be downloaded, but that's the Android mobile version. Their Android TV version, is only available via the device app Store i.e. Market. Any chance you might add it?
