Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and BT 5.2 -> I will order
It kind of begs the question why Dolby Vison & Dolby Atmos was not implemented fully on the Z11 Pro Max?

I've been desperate for dolby vision support for a long time. If that was the only upgrade then so be it. Ordered yesterday.

Because its something shiny and new to sell. The big issue i have with this new box being the same chipset, how is it going to handle dolby vision movies and tv shows that's the worry

its blown my brain. But...... the z11 pro max was a good box, unfortunately I think formular have missed a trick beings as 🍎 are releasing their new box very soon

The GTV-IR1 & BT1 remote on the Z11 Pro Max also uses hotkey. Which remote & button are you referring to exactly? If you have pictures, it would be helpful to understand.

Will the blocking of sideloading apps be a problem for this box? My understanding is only certified andriod/Google boxes are going to be hit

To be honest, I think that this box is not « ultra », and it is juste what a Z11 pro max always should have been when it was released.
It is way too much expensive for what it is. -

Should be fine with this, no blocking expected especially as it’s AOSP build

The new box by said company has no bearing on the Formuler device especially as MTOL is the preferred client and is only available on Formuler

So what? Even if the chipset isn't what you were hoping for, this version still offers more, otherwise would Dolby Vision not work. Everything new is simply ignored here!
Nobody is forcing you to buy the box, but you're complaining here as if you have to. If it's not for you, then don't bother, but don't already badmouth the box when you haven't even seen it.
we are some die hard fans :p that are just a little disappointed. nothing more. atleast upgrade the cpu or gpu or some extra ram. 99% here have the z11promax. its a good buy for new buyers not for us. its a z11promax v2. we still need a ultra :p hopefully a z12promax soon.....

Since the same chipset /memory now needs to do more processing (dolby) it raises the question what the performance will be like. I have read SAM’s comment that the Z12 “ULTRA” uses a later newer release of the same chipset which he suggests is more performant. BUT if that is so, why doesn’t Formuler publish the benchmark comparison that proves such a claim?
Poor marketing if you ask me. If you want to sell, address the hesitations and objections your customers have by proving them wrong instead of airing hollow empty phrases.

SAM said its a revision of that chip. So board is better now. Supported with dolby atmos and Dolby Vision, wifi 6 and bluetooth 5.2

Since the Z11 Pro and Z11 Pro Max weren't released at the same time, I think (hope) the Z12 Ultra will also get a sort of Max version. I think I'll wait a little while before buying this one. We'll see what happens

My 2p worth:
Had my z11pm about a year and a half now. Bought on behalf of my friend 3 minis and another pm.
Would I buy this? No.
If I was looking at a first time purchase sure but it’s just not a real upgrade over the z11. The rtd1319c always had the hardware capability for dv, so it’s just a licensing thing. Would be nice to have it for stremio but I’m not paying £169 to have it.
128gb storage is nice, again not paying 169 when I can get a usb stick for peanuts.
WiFi upgrade is nice, but the z11s WiFi is fine.
Overall nice for new users, I won’t be upgrading though -

Almost seems as if the comments are purposely bashing Formuler and I believe it’s unnecessary.
The person provided their thoughts and comments already but to continue with sarcasm seems a little over the top.
Person hasn’t even used the device yet so really is only commenting on the “specs” without seeing if there’s been any refinements in the devices performance overall. -

SPIDF is the optical port I believe for optical audio ,probably better googling it if you want a more in depth response though as I’m not that clued up on it 😂

Can it convert/transcode aac 5.1 to ac3 5.1? My z11 does not so I get only stereo on my sonos arc when the source is aac 5.1. And many content has only aac 5.1 audio.

Good question! And the answer is even better.
Less audio problems if someone have costumers👌🏻
No need to explain anymore if they skipped the audiocodec download and then say that they need to download audio optimizer.
