Review of Z8 Pro

Good Morning Formuler Users: I have just received my Z8 Pro yesterday and I want to give you a brief review of what I think of this entertainment device.

I have been around Formuler devices for several years and this box is the best yet!

I installed it in place of my Formuler GTV and the setup was flawless. The Video output is specular in 4K and the video refresh is really quick.

I configured it to use my NAS and that was flawless. I have recorded and played back to test the results. All recordings played without any problems.

I am using it wireless 5Mhz band and very little buffering with my very slow internet (average DL 12Mb/s)

I have used a Z7+ and a Z8 and the GTV and I find this box to be the best yet!

MyTVOnline2 is so refined now that it effectively makes you feel like your on your cable tv box.

Any difference between Z8 and Z8 Pro when it comes to mol2?

I think the video is far superior on the Z8 Pro. My son has the Z8 so I cannot do a direct comparison.

I'm really surprised when I read this type of comments because I did check the hardware of many Formuler and I found the following:

Z8 PRO/Alpha/Z+ Neo have the same Board - Core - GPU - MTV2 so how can it be that the Z8 PRO picture is better than other's ?

Only differences the RAM 1 vs 2 but I don't think the RAM provide more quality.

GTV have different specs without doubts.

So or the tool that I used is not good or I missing something.

Maybe SAM can comment on this, as I'm also interested.

It's not just a hardware side comparison, is a product released by supplementing the lack of Z8's software or system . if you've used both of them , could see it.

If we need something to compare then with 100% same FW and SW, Apps version and most important 100% same settings. Only one different setting change can result in better or inferior picture. It`s fact and we saw it more than once already here in Forum with settings from some users. To find the perfect settings for own TV is not always easy but possible.

I never open the boxes to compare the motherboards but i know that there are very well changes from chipset-manufacturer and revisions. Only one small change in newer chip on new board can increase some features or even with better GPU or optimisation from chip manufacturer deliver better picture.

I agree with CBP ADM and point to already written. At end it depends always from user what he see and like.

I`m amazed over that you can get FHD with a bandwith less than 30mbit and no buffering? I cant add up the equation, maybe someone can help me

I have the Z8 PRO the problems I have found is the remote the left and right buttons are to close to to the OK button if you have large fingers it is a problem also to find the mac address is confusing as the Mac address on the MYTV is not the one to use, one has to hunt for the ID to give to your suppler on my other regular Z8 The mac address is on the top of the MYTV page why in the hell did the change it ?

You might find that after software update screen on Z8 will be the same. ID on bottom of Z8 pro

I'm not sure which remote you have. I have Bricklayer hands and ok. tend to use thumb anyway without any trouble

I also have no problem with button location on my Z8 remote. i guess it just takes some getting used to .
