Works on any other device apart from formuler z11 pro max.

Checked further on laptilop using VLC for further codec details.
I checked 3 UHD streams. The problematic one (above) has the same properties as the other two streams (which are fine on the Z11 pro max ).
The only video codec property that is different:
Working streams -
Color transfer function: ITU-R BT.709
Codec exception shown on the stream withC olor transfer function: Hybrid Log-Gamma
Not sure if that is related, but it is the only difference that I found. I did set the HLG option from the menu but that did not fix it.

I’ve found this too on uhd channels, I turned off afr and it seems to fix it

Thx for the Infos , will be forwarded to Formuler.

Hellllo.
I was wondering if you can offer advise.
I have a separate IPTV app as they won't provide urls to use with mytvonline.
Now normal streams are fine SD,HD and FHD however UHD will play audio but just a black screen ?
I know the app is fine as these play on my Android tv in a different room ?
Thanks

Hve seen this error also on a 1080p channel. Guess it's not just UHD channels.
-
Just came here to say the same thing.
UHD channels are the same for me. They have been working fine till latest update.
-
I have the z11 pro max, having the same issue on UHD channel that is HLG and HDR 10.
works all other devices apart from z11 pro max
-
Same thing happening here since the last update.
-
Same here, but only on 4k channels since full software updates. Was grand on beta firmware

The Live/VOD/Tv series auto frame rate is alread turned off from the Players Options settings but that has always been off for me.
Can you please calrify how you fixed this, where AFR option is that you are referring to?
-
Ditto
-
Same issue. Media codec video decoder exception. Only on 4k hdr/hlg channels. Only since last update. Any info?
-
Joining the club here with the same error as well.
Edit: same as the conclusion above, HDR 4k channels are affected.
Z11 pro with the latest update, was working on the last beta. -

Issue is forwarded now to Formuler. Thx, for reporting, no need to continue with more reports.
-
Thanks for forwarding it through.
Do you happen to know if or when there is a hotfix ?
It feels to me this is a pretty basic regression to happen in the firmware, for 4k HLG streams to stop working on a high end IPTV streaming box following an upgrade

No, when its fixed and comes with next update then it will be shown in changelog.

I understand you, but in such big update like last time such things can unfortunately happen. To many changes in code and time presser can produce new bugs, this is very well known to devs. and programmers.
-
I happen to be a programmer and heavily involved with testers.
Of course regression bugs happen, but you would think certain things are at the top of the test cases

Hopefully we would not need to wait till a major update & a hotfix planned soon.
Thanks

Any word on a fix for this? No 4k streams ain't great 🤦

Should come with next update, little bit more patience please.

Hello everyone, I'm also having this problem, is there any new updates on the matter? Thanks

Read posting over yours! Fix should come this month.

Better to delay and release software that is ready than to delivery buggy software sooner. I feel your frustration, but more frequent releases of sort-of-OK code is not helping anyone.
-
I'd agree normally, if it weren't for the fact that this broke between beta and full release of the last update. On top of that it seems the problem has been fixed internally, which makes me wonder why a hot fix cannot be released.
I agree entirely. I purchased the Z11 pro max specifically got the UHD picture which was taken away after the last update in February, which was very disappointing and I would expect to be corrected immediately and not have to wait a month or more for the next update. Not happy

An update will be out next week. It took a little longer than you expected because we wanted to include fixes for the related issues. Kindly be patient until the hotfix is available.
-
mid april as expected.
kindly understand that update can't be rushed because testing has to be done properly before pushing out.
devs usually follow the best case, worst case and average case testing to ensure the solution is stable.
and in some cases, you have to go back to the drawing board as they would say.
-
I don't understand why people are content with this.
They broke a major feature between a beta release where it worked, to stable where it broke. There was obviously no testing done. It is one thing for beta firmware to break functionality. That's even acceptable. Stable releases breaking features is frustrating.
I understand that programing and coding, it's all very complex and tedious, and one change in one thing can break something somewhere else which seems to be the case here. Yet, shouldn't they have a sense of urgency that a major feature is broken on their most expensive device and it should be a priority to fix? Revert the change made between beta and stable, test, push a hot fix rather than wait for a full release. Push it as a beta so people understand that it might break things because it's a test.
This is my first formuler device. Everyone assured me that I asked that formuler is fantastic. Yet, from the minute I turned this device on and was met with what looked like a factory test screen instead of a normal boot up with no documentation anywhere to fix it (I figured it out on my own) and then experiencing the half baked MOL3, I've had doubts. I want Formuler to have a sense of urgency because these experiences are leaving me unimpressed.
I concur 🫡

1. first time impression can make or break a product; in your case the experience is somewhat negative.
2. The word fantastic may not apply to all experience because people will have different expectations/standards.
however, quality and stability should always be the first priority.
In some cases this will not always occur.
for example the same dev team may not be assign to the different series boxes or the company may cut cost by hiring cheaper devs for a future box series or they may just decide to try something new that may fail or rocket off.

Just installed latest beta and got UHD back 👌
-
Beta works perfectly
finally, I can watch HDR HLG again
