Beta Hotfix update - FW 11.2.2 and MOL 3 11.2.2 for Formuler Z11 Series released.

  • As mentioned in the previous post, we are working on the countermeasure for the EPG issue that Grid EPG and Single EPG show different time or do not match.

    This is because stalker portals, portals using MAC address, give out the wrong EPG data of a certain EPG type. Single EPG and Grid EPG use different types of EPG data and some servers don't have or provide the correct or matching EPG data for those two different types. That is the reason for the most of EPG issues here.

    Again, this is not a fix for an issue but a countermeasure of a problem from the server's incorrect EPG data. The update will be announced hopefully soon.

    If you're using a XC portal, using ID and PW, and the same issue happens, open a conversation with me.

    If Grid EPG and Single EPG match but the time is wrong, use offset to match the time and let your service provider know.

    This was addressed in the other thread multiple times. Please refrain from posting duplicate issues.

  • Great work this new update! Only still missing system screensaver by radio or other screensavers in the radio section. Still missing the option to put away or turn off the annoying notifications for new movies/series. Hope there will be a solution for this in the future.

  • Than I changed the EPG offset in MOL3 to -02:00 and this did result in a correct EPG grid and EPG channel info (both, time and info, are now correct), but than the single EPG list has a time difference of 2 hours ahead, thus for the correct info you have to look at the times 2 hours back (actual time 10:00 but correct info at 08:00).
    The last issue was the same (at least for me in time zone Central Europe) when I did use the manual date & time settings, which was needed to have correct EPG grid and EPG channel info.
    Conclusion on EPG issues; they are now solved, beside the 2 hours difference in the single EPG list, where I can live with, as I don't use it.

  • Great improvement! Channel epg works with -2 hour offset. Also de guide (multi epg) works correct. Only single epg ( ok and then right arrow) has 2 hour difference.

    Catchup works ok from the multi epg. Also VOD movie information is ok now.

    I have 2 lines 1 is good with the epg the other one is still wrong with the epg, must i do a reset after this update so the epg will work? Or must I play with the times ( in other apps both are no problem and at z10 PM also no problem)

    Always the same problem....EPG limited to H +/- 5h in GRID...and no way to record a show in the channel EPG...

    Please help me...Itt's now 4 months with a box unusable...

  • So the single epg still has no record & remind function. even after the update!? Oh dear. Well that was the only thing i was looking Forward to on the latest update! Pointless doing the update now. Looking like we’ll have to go back to the previous formuler boxes to get this simple function back. It’s such a pain scrolling down the single epg to find a program on a certain day you’d like to record. But then have to go back out the single epg! Then go on the guide epg & do all the same again just to press record. when all other boxes we could simply press record on the single epg!! So puzzled why this feature has gone & not returned with the latest update, When i seen so many complaints about it.

    Recording and remind function was taken out from Single EPG because grid EPG provides more access to different channels at a single view and it was proven to be more convenient by our feedback data. However, I understand that preferences can differ by the individuals. Will consider reinstating those functions in single EPG

  • Thanks, i'm using an XC portal. It worked very well on the Z8, i never had this issue with this older box. I bought a Z11 to have a newer box with new features form 4 months now and the box is unusable for a comfortable multimedia experience (EPG grid issue and no way to program a record from the single EPG) . I know devs are working on it but you have to understand that users paid 150 or 160 euros and could expect a fully operational box...Hopefully if the workaround will be available soon. Thanks for your effort.

  • Hdmi CEC, the wake TV/sleep option Formuler Z11 Pro Max still does not work with this update, when enabled, it displays the CEC wake-up message of power off mode not supported. It is therefore impossible to turn on or off the TV at the same time as the Formuler.

    This is not an issue and it was explained multiple times.

    Use the Formuler remote and press STB button or change the power mode to standby

  • Still very disappointed. No timer button in the Epg and only a few hours epg information ahead. How can you use the timer if i want to record a program for the next day?

    Those 2 issues are the worst of the z11. Is anyone working on that right now and when can we finally get a solution for this?

  • In the main epg grid it only shows 24 hours of programming, after that I still get no information.

    But… in the condensed epg and pressing right direction as if to view catchup, it shows programming for current day and 5 days after.

    I experience the same problem, so why has the single epg no record & remind function like in Mol2 , is it not possible or are devs working on it.

    Short update on the connection lost of server. Reinstall MOL didn't help (was ok for a few hours and then lost connection again - I believe I installed IPTV v11.2.2 beta then). Then did a reset (factory settings) and for now it seems ok so far (even did manual content update).

    Now: FW is v11.2.2 (beta) and IPTV is v11.2.1 (official - so this time I did NOT install beta IPTV v11.2.2.)

    Could it be that this issue/bug (losing connection and errors 404 and 1010) is in IPTV v11.2.2 (beta)? Hopefully all will be ok when the next official IPTV comes out.

    New update: just lost connection again to my main provider (and error 404) ; got it back after 2x restore in MOL ; connection got lost again after a manual content refresh -> this connection losing after a (manual) refresh really is a problem for me -> Any suggestons I can try? And can this please be looked at & be solved?

  • Now: FW is v11.2.2 (beta) and IPTV is v11.2.1 (official - so this time I did NOT install beta IPTV v11.2.2.)

    FYI: If you install in Beta or any other Official update new FW, with this comes also new iptv version, you have to install latest iptv version to let it work properly. This is a must.

    New Fw and older IPTV app do not work correctly.

    Once again, Beta FW 11.2.2 then you have to install also IPTV 11.2.2.

  • I moved to Formuler Z10 pro some time back on recommendation from my son who bought one, and has thoroughly enjoyed it!

    Impressed by the quality, I have convinced many friends and family to get one for themselves - and each of them is delighted.

    Last month I bought another Z10 pro and recently went in for the Z11 pro max.

    My main issue is the catch-up function.

    To me, this is a huge disappointment to be unable to go back and watch previous shows.

    The beta did not fix this but I hope you guys see the importance and find a fix - I've had to swap the Z11 for the Z10 :frowning_face:

  • I have a problem/issue with my provider after this BETA update, meaning everything works, it loads channels, EPG , VOD, etc, then some channels open right away, but others do not open, instead i get a black screen and network error, this happens in both MAC and XC. You may ask why i know it's a formuler error/bug? Because in the same channel if i go right to EPG and choose to start the live stream it opens the stream, then i scroll to the end and i get almost live stream, i stay for a bit and then when i exit epg and return to channel it opens the channel, problem is if i change to another channel the network error returns.

    I did everything already, reset box and mol3, changed vpn settings from wireguard to openvpn, dns on formuler from auto to off, and things get better? maybe placebo and after awhile network error again.

    Refreshing portal helps only in the channel we are at the time of refreshing, after changing to another channel the network error returns...

    I'm not sure if it helps, but on other iptv apps we can choose the stream quality and change it from "auto" to "best available". i've noticed that when it's on auto on several iptv apps i have issues and when it's on "best available" less issues...

    On MOL3 we should be able to choose stream quality on a specific channels or on all channels (almost all providers have it). My provider has 3 streams of the same channel (SD/HD/FHD/sometimes4k). Yet the "SD" channel could probably be streaming in FHD and the FHD streaming in SD and sometimes while in the same channel i see the resolution changing from FHD to HD or SD. Not sure if i'm making any sense...

    Too many things can be happening, but i'm almost sure something is wrong when i open channel, probably formuler decoder doesn't know which stream to open and on EPG as it opens with different decoder (i've noticed media player is different on EPG) it gets the only resolution available on EPG and then when returning to the main channel probably the live decoder used the same quality that was on EPG. But again, i'm just speculating from my own experience...

    PS: This behavior is new, meaning i got network errors in the past with previous FW, but i could never open EPG on that channel either...

  • I sound so negative. But I really love formuler boxes. This is my third. Z11 pm is fast and has a great picture. But there are some serious issues that update doesn't fix:

    1 I have to use vlc for all VOD which means resume function doesn't work

    2 most uktv apps don't seem to work

    3 cec problems persist

    4 catch up files will not play

    I understand some of this may not be formuler issues but overall I am disappointed.

It is now stuck in boot-loop and will not do anything except show the splash screen just to reboot itself again. I am interested in downloading the factory software first, then the beta hotfix if necessary and booting from usb, but I don't know where to download the software. Is there an online download site, or a location where this information is attainable? I'm willing to try anything at this point because my $159 device is a brick that never worked for more that 5 minutes. I tried contacting the e-bay seller for an exchange with zero reply after 4 days. So I called the credit card company to stop sale and reported it as a fraud.

    Please let me know where I might download the file.

    formuler don't allow manual flashing.

    how ever you can try the manual factory reset by:

    1. unplug the unit from power and hdmi

    2. connect hdmi, use a paper clip to press the small button inside the ir extender port or the hole in the back of the unit

    3. while keeping the paper clip press on the button, plug in the unit and keep the button press until the logo goes out.

    you should get the recovery screen to wipe data

    Do factory reset like in this video and after box automatic restart, install MOL3 again.

    Also find it unusual that they only have really well made marketing on their website but ZERO support Manuals. We end up on a treasure hunt to find answers here - which we are thankful to you for facilitating, but can be extremely frustrating for many. I understand some folks love the "discovery" method, I'd rather have access to a simple website with info loaded.

    What exactly is wrong on Z11, is the Catch up icon not shown? What are you using as Connection with provider (Stalker, XC Api portal or M3U)?

    Z10 pro + Mol2 - shows icon for catch up, catch up plays fine on BOTH devices

    Z11 pro + Mol3 - shows icon for catch up, gives an error message. Beta installed, no difference - still get message

    ** same provider on all 3 devices with Stalker on all 3 of them.

    I've just done a cache and data clean up..trying everything possible :smiling_face:

    SAM - fixed the issue.

    For anyone with the same issue, here's what worked for me and fixed the problem:

    1. Do a back up of your device
    2. Download and install beta version
    3. Clear EPG and re cync
    4. If you have Favourites in Live TV or VOD, take pics of the screen to guide you <- this will save you a ton of time later
    5. Clear Data and Clear Cache
    6. You will get an option to restore - go ahead in restore from your back up
    7. Now, on my device I had to go back to settings and only approve my (stalker) settings.
    8. Now you have the device running.
    9. You'll find all your favorites gone but the grouping remains.
    10. Go to the pics you took and start marking your favs (yes, true PIA)
    11. Give the EPG time to load, once done, you can now go back and use Catch up.

  • No, there is no such option. Go to Mol3 menu -> CM -> data sync -> delete epg and do refresh. Wait until the EPG populate.

    Short lived Elation!

    Worked perfectly last night, this morning - back to Error message!

    Only change since last night is EPG data update. To rewind my experience, I had to delete cache and date to make catch up work.

    Is this a bug with EPG data? It would be a genuine PIA to have to do this each time EPG updates. It took a good couple of hours yesterday!

    Decided to clear cache to see if there was any change - Nada! Same error message.

    So, narrowing down symptoms/fixes/results:

    All 3 devices on the same provider running stalker.

    Z10p - No problems catch up

    Z11pm:

    > Error message, beta installed, still error message

    > Cleared Data and Cache - catch up works perfectly

    > Overnight EPG update - Catch up Error back

    > Cleared cache - Error message still persists

    IMHO this narrows down to EPG update and how that affects the functionality.

    Edited once, last by NAV: Ran test on Z11pm to see if clearing cache fixed issue (April 23, 2023 at 6:59 PM).
